And indeed the file isn't there.

I hope posting images here is ok because they are directly as a result of RC1.  I am flying with Garmin Pilot so have accurately measured the distance to features on the terrain.  The lake at the base of the mountains just left of centre is 29.4 miles away. The river running left to right a little closer is 22 miles away.  Both nicely depicted in the distant haze.  Much improved visibility distance over previous betas.

I think they worked on the cockpit lighting too. It's much more toned down, I would even say that it's too low in some cases.

In my limited time of testing the R1 today, my jaw dropped multiple times. Noticed a remarkable increase in visual fidelity.

Absolutely agree - I'm trying to restrain myself from posting too many images but I failed 😁  I am looking at just about everything as if its new again!

I get even more ghosting from panning (in spot view in this example) now. Even the clouds themselves are graining/pixelated when panning around.

This feels like P3D 5.0 glitches all over again. Visual Quality is not RC worthy.

It is annoying to get these bugs, but we are still pre-release. Is there anything positive you can say about the product, just one thing?

RC1 over the SW USA - simply fantastic!  Can't wait to see what we get in future release candidates!

I'm experiencing the same.  I have a more benign version of your bottom pic in MSFS as well.  It's really bad here in XP12.  I also agree...they should not be calling it RC1 as it looks now.

Significantly brighter now. It looks awesome. But they're still tuning. Eg. the master caution button in the 738 is now showing up as clipped / bright white.

Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Especially if you're on a modern CPU that can run a flight simulator well. These web servers aren't free...

I also just crashed due to icing. Which I can accept normally.

If it wasn't for the fact that it was ISA-30C / OAT -15C at the aerodrome and light snow underneath stratus OVC,  visibility 9999+.

Felt like an Asobo moment. Before the infamous nerf.

What AA settings are people using?  Some settings absolutely crush my 1080 Ti.  For now I'm using FXAA (ewwww) but it looks okay and fps stay in the 30s with clouds present.

I do think the clouds are getting better.  And I'm building ice on my wings here... rain aloft but colder airframe.  Be cool if they're actually simulating that.  The ice buildup looks like glass at the moment but clear ice can have a similar look.  (I'm sure this will all be improved on)
