December 23, 20223 yr It's been a nice plane to use and I have a lot of flights in it but it's gone downhill recently apparently. Do we have any other options now or in the pipeline? I know PMDG 777 is way out there but anything else? I use A Pilot's Life and have one heavy, the PMDG 738 and AS CRJ700 but recently the B78X has become more trouble than it's worth. December 23, 20223 yr Have you flown the FBW a320? Extreme payware quality with a fantastic price. it won’t disappoint. -B

Also was proficient with Majestic Q400 FWIW. Airbusses do the flying on their own. You're the supervisor. You can learn that in a couple of hours 😲 Editor-in-Chief at SimulationDaily.com

December 23, 20223 yr I have flown it many times with a Yoke, when I'm too lazy to plug in my joystick, and before I got the airbus joystick, the Yoke was all I had. Although different, the B777 and B787 are both Fly by wire and use Yokes. Learning curve is not a steep as you think it maybe. The hardest part for me to get used to is the MCDU, i find Boeing's FMC so much easier and more user friendly but mind you i have used it for years so......... Anyway give it a go Noel, you never know you might enjoy it !

With Boeing, the controls operate as they would if the plane was a C172. Pitch up to climb and hold it...then trim out the back pressure. It's supposed to give the feeling of normal, cable actuated flight controls. With Airbus, it's a bit different, which is why using a yoke can be troublesome. Fly By Wire in this sense is much more hands off. You put in some stick (left, right, up, down) and go back to neutral. The plane will maintain what you were doing previously. With a yoke, you sorta hold it where you want it, especially in a bank. If you do that with an Airbus, you'll just keep rolling until you go back to neutral. Having a Joystick for the Airbus will give you a much more intuitive sense of control. AMD 9950X3D | 64 GB RAM | RTX 5090 FMR: 747 FO, 757/767 CAPT, 737 Check Airman Current 777 CAPT

December 24, 20223 yr If you are using a yoke try the A310 and call it a day. Using a yoke with an Airbus other than that (A310) don't make much sense. Edited December 24, 20223 yr by jbdbow1970
