February 4, 20233 yr Greetings, I am in the middle of a MSFS CTD Start-Up crisis with a question on options. I am unable to start MSFS and desire to change online services from ON to OFF. I have already re-installed and reset and continue to receive the following error: "Due to an unexpected error, your game license cannot be authorized. To access the online services, make sure to sign into the Microsoft Store and to Microsoft Flight Simulator with Xbox Live account that was used to purchase Microsoft Flight Simulator." Again, I am not able to start MSFS and unable to change options in the conventional manner. I fear settings are all stored on the cloud and not able to be accessed. Is there another way to access and change? Many thanks.

February 4, 20233 yr My sim CTD'd a couple of times this morning as well. GSX ans the Fenix app weren't starting. I found that my exe.xml was missing. I restored a backup copy of it and that's what kicked off the CTDs. Now that I am in sim again, most of my settings are correct, but a few were wrong. Real Time AI traffic turned itself on, and the basic controls icon appeared in the handlebar. MSFS is possessed this weekend. i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440

February 4, 20233 yr Ouch. That stinks. Oh... And GSX won't control jetways today, either. Edit: The Fenix EFB won't control them either. ATC did it. February 5, 20233 yr This has happened to me before (same error message). I opened up the Xbox app manually, and the Microsoft Store app. I logged out of both and back in. Restarted my PC and all was well. The "non-authorization" of your MSFS licence is perhaps more related to the MS Store app. The Xbox app pulls data from the Store account. so, worth a try maybe. Always this is the first step for something like this--log out of both, restart and relog back in. February 5, 20233 yr Ditto for me any time there's any error message related to licensing: log out of the MS store, log out of the xbox app, log back into the store, log back into the xbox app. And for an extra measure, launch MSFS from the xbox app (as opposed to from your PC start menu). Frankly, there must be a simpler way for MS gaming to handle these things. If that's what it needs, build the behavior into the software so it recognizes this simple issue, gives a pop-up and reconnects without all of this fuss lol. What's odd is you had to be logged in as an owner I assume in order to be able to reinstall which you mentioned you had done, resinstalled. Is it possible you're running Process Lasso w/ Windows startup? This always creates CTD when I attempt to start MSFS after PL has run, even when it's terminated it will not let me start MSFS so I must reboot, load MSFS, then load PL. February 5, 20233 yr Author I've never heard of Process Lasso. Also, have signed out/in of MS Store and Xbox multiple times.
February 6, 20233 yr Here are instructions I saved from a forum, in case I ever need them. I don't recall where or when I saw this info, so I unfortunately cannot provide proper credit to the author. I have not validated it works, because I have not had your issue, but thought I would share in case it helps. Open the Microsoft Store app on your computer. In the bottom left corner of the Microsoft Store, click on the library icon In the top left corner, click “Get Updates” then "Update all" and wait for the updates to install. Once the updates are installed, click on your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen. Under your email address, click on "Sign out". Reboot the computer Open the Microsoft Store app. Click on the icon in the top right corner, then click on Sign in. Sign in with the Microsoft account you used to play Microsoft Flight Simulator.
