February 26, 20233 yr Just to add I am having immense fun in the Caribou. The model, the textures, the sounds, functionality, the view from the cockpit - superb value for £12.49. Has a great feel of weight and inertia as well. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. Not goeing in deepness that much, most of the knobs and switches are not usable at the state of yet - but the plane and the cockpit is very well designd i would say. cheers 😉 Edited February 26, 20233 yr by pmplayer 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.
February 26, 20233 yr Author The autopilot mod works beautifully with a Loupedeck, if you have one. No need for a panel in the VC - it's all there on the Loupedeck. Perfect! 😃 Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org

February 26, 20233 yr I haven't tried out the AP mod yet, but assuming it uses all default AP commands etc I should be able to use it with my GoFlight MCP PRO. February 27, 20233 yr I'm just taking my first flight, but all of my electronics shut off mid-flight. Batt is on, master is on...what am I missing? A lot of essentials are off now (radio, horizon, man pressure, oil pressure, compass, etc.). Other than that, it's been really fun 😂
February 27, 20233 yr Because of the STOL capability I'm finding the Caribou makes quite a decent bush plane, squeezing into tight spaces. I've managed a couple of altiports near Grenoble and that Tep Tep (AYTP) in PNG from Chris Jaensch's article. The only problem is readying it for takeoff again; while the turning circle is tight, it's quite a wingspan to clear. I can see how the lack of autopilot can be an issue for simmers on long flights; IRL there's a copilot to do that!
February 27, 20233 yr Author What is the possibility of a community-led improvement mod for the Caribou ? I'm thinking along the lines of the Duckworks mod for the DC-3. Is it possible to do something similar for the Caribou, or are certain files encrypted ? Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org
