Sim Update 12 beta (1.31.22.0) Now availble

Recommended Posts

Just to reassure some people...

131220 update for me (checked in minimised window title bar).  Barely noticed the update - it must have been fast.  Very quick into the menu screen as well.

4k ultra DLSS2 quality, C172 Reims Rocket from Sedona to Flagstaff, light clouds - absolutely no stutters and 60 fps smooth as silk.  Checked in external view and internal view, Tobii tracker swivelling about as well.

For those experiencing the problem I would reboot the PC and try again.  I have had to do this a few times in the past with weird behaviour and it has cleared it.

PS. Loving the new turbulence model.  Even on realistic it moves the plane around nicely but at least doesn't try to tip me over like before!

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Yes.  Well not so much a slider but a selection box.  Realistic, medium, low.

I think I prefer realistic. Although it is the strongest, it is still better than the "flip you on your back" mode from the last update - mainly when I was flying close to hills.

I think something went wrong when introducing the thermals and ridge lift for the gliders. It seemed very severe to me, but they have put it back to roughly how it used to be now.

Medium gives a more gentle movement - rocking, wallowing etc.  I liked it at first but then it didn't seem enough after a bit.

Low mode is almost on rails.  Feels a bit like FSX.

PS. Why do you have Hurricane Higgins as your avatar?  He was an entertaining character for sure!

The plane you're flying can also be a cause of stutters. On my machine the AN-225 stutters a lot when panning while the Longitude is always smooth sailing.

ah, been waiting on this for so long (not using the beta to know)...I was hoping for more than just 2 or 3 settings (would have preferred a slider) but I'm experimenting with cautious optimism, nonetheless 🙂

Thanks for letting us know your thoughts about it.

Have you perhaps downloaded the new Nvidia driver? I did and got stutters. I've seen others report the same problem with that driver. I rolled back to a driver from about six weeks ago, and all is well. It's worth considering.

Only 'issue' I have with this beta (apart from the 737 brake) is that the Google map mod seems to crash the sim when selecting an airport. Without it (using BIng) it works like a charm.

I had also problems with the PMDG´s B737 parking brake. I later found out that my brakes pedals were not 100% because I had a extremely dead zone of 5% - check this on your settings since it might be the culprit!
