Upgrade seemed to go smoothly for me. Fired up the sim and did a quick load at my home airport (CYKF) with no issue but haven't had a chance to actually fly just yet. Will go for a short hop after work.

Update went smoothly and appeared ok so far.

BUT

Not sure what they have changed but power lines are now ugly black lines that dominate the vista near my airports!

For the past week or so I have been having unexplained CTD on loading which was new event for me. Yet after a restart it was ok and performance was fine. In fact on one flight I was getting nearly 90 FPS which I have never seen before. Is this a fix now not sure. I do know the skunkcraft update plug in has become a pain!

Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Especially if you're on a modern CPU that can run a flight simulator well. These web servers aren't free...

a bit of a separate topic but does anyone know if LR if planning to improve VR? I have a G2 and XP12 is basically unplayable in VR. I am not sure if it is G2 related but I have seen other users complaining about it. There is an Open VR DLL out there that is helping a bit, but it is not stable.

Thx!

John

G2 here too. For me FPS ranges between just barely usable to just on the good side of OK, with sliders around the middle. LR says native openXR is coming but no timeframe. I did see this comment saying they've been actively working it though. They have one dev who only uses VR, so it's relatively high on the list.

And then there's this one that hints at FPS improvements

Yes, in one of the developer streams they announced moving to openXR (eventually), there is also a new switch in this release

--d3d11_vr

for windows VR users which "theoretically" should give some performance improvements "The goal is to shop it around a bit and collect feedback"

Hmmm.. anything about Zink in there? Tried turning it on again. It previously begun to crash on me minutes after load but now I am just sitting at the gate watching and hoping it's working again.. 😉

I tend to run away from even trying the A330 the moment I see it's fish tail under Normal Mode 😕

What a joke 😞

What exactly does this parameter do? How does it benefit VR users?

A very merry dance through pretty much every graphics API known to man, something that could only be concocted by mixing 40 year old code stolen by Bill Gates, a VR platform written by a games company that only cares about linux and a large quantity of marijuana.

theoretically improve VR performance, especially with zink enabled.

What do you mean? Dutch roll?

Nope, auto-coordination + Dutch Roll compensation by the AFS. Look from outside while flying manually or in AP, and see the almost constant huge tail "wonder"/deflection...

Other airbuses (Toliss and FF) don't do it so I assume it is something wrong in the default a330 fbw FM parameters?

Real weather or clear skies without turbulence?
