New MSFS error in graphics

Featured Replies

Just received graphics overheating error the first time running MSFS after updating to latest Nvidia game-ready driver (531.61).  I do recall receiving this error once before while using a prior Nvidia driver - not sure which one.

Most display settings on Ultra

Nvidia 3090 currently using 531.61 driver when error recieved

DX12

DLSS

Flying C172 - MSFS error and freeze occurred about 20 minutes after leaving KBOS while running FSLTL, Fly-by-Wire Simbridge connect (which showed connection errors, perhaps because FBW aircraft not loaded)

Haven’t had this error since switching from dx12 to dx11 and using a more aggressive gpu fan speed profile.

Haven't had this error again since weeks and have not changed anything 😉😉😉

MSI Tomahawk Z790, I7-13700K, DDR5 6000mhz, MSI 4090, 3x SSD 980 PRO, Corsair 360 Liguid CPU cooler, Corsair H1200V2 power.

Bizarre and annoying.   11 gb of vram has never been an issue before. I've had this problem since SU12.  Been barely flying much because its frequent.   Play other demanding games and never have any issue at all.

Also confirm graphics drivers makes no difference at this point.

If they ever get a running error log file in place, this would help alot as long as the log doesnt have vague errors like windows does.

After reading in a different thread that the new Nvidia driver 531.68 seems to eliminate the error message/CTD --  at least for some individuals -- I tried it and can report progress. MSFS runs much longer without the CTD than it does with other drivers, but it still happens. As many here including me have noted, this issue arose for us only after SU12, and I am convinced it will take Asobo to correct it.

its a very strange bug…first time happened to me after SU12 when driver updated to 531.41

Asobo is working on it since October '22eb9d3daccd86d5d49ffb4333bb54307d4e98db4a

Same again after MSFS SU13 with Gforce driver 531.68 now back to 531.29

Reverting to .29 seems to have fixed the issue for me.

you saved me from a failed test for one more time , still on 531.29 but after SU13 gpu -3080ti 16gb- temps are higher from 61 to 65-73 c ...

I just installed the latest update of the GForce GameReady driver 531.79 (and tested it also with the driver version before .68), I changed my Graphic Settings in the MSFS to High and DX11. Until Now no CTD but still very much stutter on approach 😤

bad luck for me, tested 531.79 yesterday  and crashed after 30 min of flying , back to 531.29 and all back in normal ... i'm using DX12

I have had this issue since SU12 and it will not go away, even with multiple Nvidia drivers including 531.29. For me,the "graphics error" message and CTD happen unpredictably, most often when the sim is paused. It will take Asobo to fix this, I am certain.
