100 fps with FG on is something I had already before my 7800X3D wit no traffic tools, but to get useful comparisons we need to agree on a common test environment, like using a pre-recorded demo flight with FLT situation and PLN files attached, and identical settings in the OPTIONS menu, like @peloto has uploaded here recently on a 13900K, in 1K only though. we should run the same tests at 1K and 4K, with and without FG, with no intermittent view changes etc.

Me too, but I don’t remember having over 100fps during an IFR approach into a payware airport with dozens of live traffic. 

Will check this benchmark and try to do it during the weekend.

just experienced 90 fps in VR first time ever, I thought I was dreaming, unbelievably smooth, Ryzen 7800X3d + RTX 4090. 90 fps, fps counter must be broken. 😀

So, after some time with the 7800X3D, I am now getting absolute bonkers performance in MSFS.

Here I am in the hand-crafted YSSY, with the WT787, Live Traffic and getting 165fps lined-up in the runway (as seen on the bottom left). 

On cruise I am seeing 250fps+! And this is with no less than 5 screens (3 of them used for MSFS, gauges and FMC)...

Need limit that to 120 with the NVCP, as the built-in limiter does not seem to be working.

You using Frame Generation?

Do me a favour for comparision - Could you load into a 3rd party airport like inibuilds KJFK or EGLL and if you've got it, load up FSLTL or AIG. I'm curious what sort of main thread time you'll see.

Yes, FG is on. 

Here is the situation on EGLL at 4K, everything on Ultra, DX12, FG but no DLSS and 128 live AI from FSTL (picture washed out due to HDR):

43 FPS - Severely CPU limited, even with the 7800X3D

So, AI Traffic absolutely hammers the CPU, especially in a heavy area and with 100+ live aircraft. As seen above, my GPU was sitting at 38% usage! Thank goodness for FG, otherwise I would have 20fps in such scenarios.

Thanks for that mate, that's about what I see on my setup as well when I'm using single monitor. 

 

You're right, AI Traffic is a killer of the main thread....I wish there was something that could be done about that.

Only problem I have with FG is you can't use VSYNC with it. It used to work prior to AAU 1 but something broke after that and even via the NVCP it just produces horrible results for me....usually doubling my main thread timing for some reason.

There is. You can reduce the number of ground and in-air aircraft and you can also reduce the radius in which they appear. I set max IFR and VFR aircraft to 10 and the max radius to inject airborne and ground traffic to the minimum ie. 25 and 10kms respectively. This gives me a good taste test of AI aircraft without swamping my CPU at all.

Trying to build a new pc for myself. Will decide between a 7600x and a 7800x3d. Is there a noticeable difference in 4K between the 2 ? The pictures on the first post are at 4K? Thx

If this is for MSFS, 7800X3D all the way.

I can't begin to explain how good Frame Generation + 7800X3D is in MSFS.  If you're using Xplane or P3D, then there are better options (13700K/13900K or your 7600X or 7700X etc.).

Yes, everything at 4K. As mentioned for MSFS, the X3D is generally the best option, but it all depends on the GPU you will be getting as well.

I believe this is not possible when using my traffic solution (PSXT + Real Traffic).
