June 23, 20232 yr I installed the AAU update this morning and have had no sound whatsoever on MSFS since then. Sound is fine with everything else on my PC. So I've gone into the sound settings within MSFS and selected both speakers and default device (which is also speakers) but with either settings there is no sound in msfs at all. No music during loading, no engines at startup, nothing. All my MSFS volume levels are as they were before the update. I've emptied my community folder and performed several restarts but still no sound in msfs. Sound is not muted on my PC and there is no mute option in msfs to worry about. Any idea what could be wrong? June 23, 20232 yr Author I was wondering if this may be related to the nvidia driver update recommended during the update so installed that, but still no sound Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
June 23, 20232 yr Have you checked your volume mixer and made sure MSFS isn't specifically muted there? I can't say I have ever experienced this during the beta or public build though so it is an odd one. June 23, 20232 yr Author Thanks guys. I went through all my own troubleshooting steps and then those suggested here and found that the msfs app had become muted in the volume mixer. Odd one and I have no idea how that happened. Thanks again everyone. Thanks again everyone. With MSFS, there doesn't need to be a reason. MSFS seems to have a random black hole wandering through the code sometimes, and everyone seems to get a different black hole in a different place! Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. June 23, 20232 yr Struck down by black hole too (no sound) - unless I plug in USB headset. http://youtube.com/c/Greazer
