July 13, 20232 yr JULY 13TH, 2023 DEVELOPMENT UPDATE Posted by: Microsoft Flight Simulator Team This week’s Screenshot Challenge winner is twitter user pommes_l. If you’re interested in participating in our weekly Screenshot Challenges, check out the details in the Community section below! For those living in the Northern Hemisphere, we are now fully in the summer months. For many people, this is a time for vacations, relaxation, and spending time with family and friends. To our community members enjoying the summer, we wish all of you a safe and relaxing break. Many members of the MSFS team are also taking advantage of the summer months to enjoy some holiday time. Accordingly, we will not have a Developer Livestream in July, but we are instead preparing a pre-recorded video featuring updates from some members of the dev team and a few special guests. You can watch this video during our regular Twitch Community Fly-In Friday event next week on July 21. – MSFS Team DEVELOPMENT ROADMAP Click here for the web-friendly version of the Development Roadmap. July 14 is the Fête nationale française, more commonly known in English as Bastille Day. To celebrate France’s national holiday, our Community Fly-In this week will see us visit L’Hexagone. Our departure will be from Lyon, whose airport (LFLL) is named after beloved author – and famous pioneering aviator – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. From there we will continue onwards towards the capital city of Paris, including fly-overs of several sites relevant to the French Revolution such as the Palace of Versailles, Place de la Concorde and the former location of the Bastille itself. Our full stop landing will be at Paris Le Bourget Airport (LFPB). Event details are available here. All are welcome to participate! COMMUNITY VIDEO Recently on YouTube, Steven Cannell has created a series of short airport showcase videos. We encourage everyone to check out the entire collection at this link. There was a screenshot "leaked" as a tease by Microsoft last week somewhere - I came across it in a forum, most likely here at AVSIM somewhere. From memory, it was a shot of Prague (?). So I don't think there has been an announcement of how large the area is - country or region - but at least we saw a peek at one of the cities.
July 14, 20232 yr The contrast on my work monitor is rather low, so I thought the screenshot from mattgt933 was a bit rude until I realised what it was! Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. Not unwelcome, but might be a tough one to do. I feel like I recall Jorg mentioning something in their update that required PG and they had a helicopter in place, but it was raining unseasonably. I don't know if that was City Update Texas - I feel like I remember it was in reference to the next WU.

I believe he was talking about Hawaii. Maybe that's WU14. Jorg and others expressed disappointment that the Oceana update didn't include all they wanted at the time. Maybe WU14 is Hawaii! WU14 is not Brazil (or Hawaiʻi) it's at the very least the Czech Republic, as they showed Prague off as a tease at the end of the last Q&A. Edited July 18, 20232 yr by Tuskin38
