How often are you getting "Connection Lost" alerts? And...

I guess I'm lucky, I have more than 1000 hours in MSFS and only saw this once and it was caused by problems with my internet provider.

Edit: I wonder if using photogrammetry has something to do with it, I usually fly with photogrammetry disabled.

There are a load of "stops" on the traceroute to the MSFS servers.  How do we know it's not one of those cutting out on any individual's connection?  If it were the MSFS servers it seems like everyone should be experiencing this, no?

Nearly everyone IS experiencing this, aren't they?

I know of no one who is reported this happening up to 3x with EVERY flight now in the past week.  I have no idea I'm tempted to run a poll to see how widespread.  On APL's Discord channel I asked about this and folks there weren't having this issue.  This morning 2h flight yielded no disconnects so hopefully this issue is abating.  It's also Monday AM here so perhaps less total traffic is a factor.

it's possible they're reading some of these posts because yesterday even was disconnected twice but reconnected very quickly and was not put in Offline mode so who knows.

I also saw the "Switching to Offline" alert multiple times between 8AM-12PM ET today. In the past few weeks I have seen these alerts far more often overall. I thought it was a local/ISP issue on my end but I am starting to think MS/Azure are having some sort of latency or overall connection issue within their networks. It kills the immersion (and overall enjoyability) level of MSFS so much...

Up until about a year ago I never had a disconnect.  Then they started happening with no change in my local configuration.  Therefore, I consider this to be a server-side issue.

Lately, it hasn't happened as much.  It would be a disconnect followed by a reconnect within a minute or so.  I even downloaded a little app to have MSFS not make the focus be stuck on the disco window -- without that I had to restart the sim.  I think a fix in recent months fixed that bug, but I still have that app loaded in my Community folder just in case.

Okay I've had 4 Lost Connections all followed by Connection Success! or whatever it says and all 4 did not take me to Offline mode, so that's a helpful improvement at least.

Connection lost is different then bandwidth error.
After a bandwidth error BING data is turned off !!!

yes, and then turning Bing back on takes quite a long time, and maybe it sits on, or turns off again a few minutes later. It is very frustrating. It could be my ISP throttling but I am still trying to find more evidence to prove that. I see some improvements using Private Internet Access (PIA) VPN but a very hefty price in overall bandwidth. I'm on 400/40Mbps from my Coaxial ISP and overall speeds drop by approx. 50% with PIA connected to the nearest PoP geographically, and the lowest latency PoP which is technically a bit further away as the bids fly (and the location name they provide). Having PIA up is a low-level workaround but the high latency/performance costs make it sub-optimal in my mind.

Yes, but what was happening previously every time nearly was Connection Lost, rapidly followed by BW error, then off with the data, and it's not happened now 4x in a row.
