X-Plane 12.06 Is Full of Many Things

600 lines of code on 1 meg of RAM and 256 colors. And 600 lines of low level code, meaning no frameworks, engines or libraries.

Point is, developers are lazy nowadays, they rush things just to get something released and "fix later", meaning the end users has to deal with bugs, poor performance and half baked features.

Point is, you have no idea of the complexities of programming a flightsim, or debuggung thousands of lines of code, nore dealing with multiple hardware software configurations, nor people who barely know how to turn a pc on, nevermind how to set up a pc. You should give if a go, than you would have the right to complain.

And it ran superbly!

My FSII on the Commodore 64 was running at around 2-10 fps. Yeah super.

When your car breaks down or some other device that you paid for is unrealiable you just say "well I can't build a car so I'll just be happy that at least it looks good"?

Setup: RX6800 | 5800X3D + B450 | 32GB 3200MHz | X-Plane 12

Laughs in 'Star Citizen'. You sweet summer child.

Good thing LR now has decades of dev history to prove that they'll eventually iron out the bugs and features. Performance/frametime stability is one example of a significant improvement in .06. It's hilarious to watch other organizations with hundreds of eyes on a sim project, churn out a similar degree of bugginess and lack of functionality. LR's doing quite well considering what they're taking on.

Considering they're a few good years behind, yeah, it's pretty good.

Car manufacturers come out with different generations of the same vehicle. And when there’s a fault, the car is recalled and repaired at no charge. Kind of like an…update.  And when a car does break down, it’s either through neglect or wear and tear. That’s what mechanics are for.

But car owners are allowed to express their frustration and disappoinment with other owners, since this is a product they paid for, without being told "well at least you should be happy that the stereo works, sometimes we forget the simple things".

Your analogy doesn't make sense.  You're comparing a physical, tangible object, made by 1 manufacturer, where wear and tear is inevitable, to software and lines of code that you expect to run on a myriad of different PC setups, where both software and hardware plays a part.

The 3rd party add on market is not regulated.  This means anyone can make anything, and it can range from AAA to extremely inefficient and riddled with bugs, and you expect something you pay for to work alongside this from day 1?

If I make something for X-Plane, I can never guarantee it will work alongside another add on, whether it's a plugin or another aircraft, without issue.  No developer can make that kind of guarantee.

It's quite obvious you don't understand how the 3rd party add on environment works.

True. It's code, you can change it, test it, break it. It's not like you wait for some physical part to come from abroad and then it doesn't fit.

BTW, this discussion wasn't about 3rd party software.

You're actually correct for once. They have been behind the curve on those sunsets. Thankfully that's one of the 'many things' that arrived in the .06 beta.

Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Especially if you're on a modern CPU that can run a flight simulator well. These web servers aren't free...

I'm generally not one for "eye candy". but gotta admit, I did very recently just pause the world "mid crisis" to say, omg I have to get a screenshot of this.
