Fix for taxiway lights in the middle of taxiways

Featured Replies

Hi all, sorry if this has been covered previously, but I'm wondering if anyone knows any fixes payware or freeware that removes the taxiway light poles from showing up in the taxiway?  Thanks!!

As it would have to be done manually for every airport - no, there's no such global fix.

But it's certainly a good idea to remind MS this has to be done one day, either via Zendesk or via their forum. I am pretty sure there's a relevent thread open for voting.

Kind regards, Michael

Fingers crossed, the MSFS version of the scenery gateway will eventually get through legal and regulatory review at some point. That will make it possible for the community to provide upgraded default airport scenery that eliminates those annoyingly out of place taxiway lights, etc. This worked like a charm in XPlane, so let's hope it does so in MSFS as well.

Hopefully this, among many other airport issues, will be able to be fixed on an airport-by-airport basis in MSFS World Hub when it comes out.

Has this really to be done on a per-airport base? As far as I understand, all default airports have been generated via sime kind of automatic procedure, supposedly augmented by some kind of AI. Shouldn't AI, properly learned, be able to detect lightpoles in the midst of taxiways and shift them on a general base?

Kind regards, Michael

Exactly. I see no reason why this can't be the case.

It all depends on how easy they will make it for consumers to correct these issues. Currently you need to spend quite some time to learn the basics of editing scenery before you can even start.
I have edited quite a few afcads for FSX which in my mind was a much simpler system. I was also quite a bit younger then which might also have something to do with it😊

JF's Real Taxiways is suppose to reduce them. From there page at https://www.justflight.com/product/real-taxiways-usa-class-b-c-d-and-non-towered-airports

JF/Black Square Real Taxiways does that, BUT it only works for default airfields (so NOT e.g. for the customized airfields of MSFS Premium Edition or World Updates). You have to go through the bgl files and remove them manually in case of conflicts. Also, it will not fix erratic parking spots.

Best solution is to find a good AFCAD that fixes both. These are good to start with:

Undercarriage lever a bit sticky was it, Sir?
