Hi All,

I'm considering replacing my current flight sim / PC desk with something and would like to see what other people put their monitors, joystick, etc. on.

Cheers

*Aluminium Extrusion PROFILES* is a good and flexible RIG construction-type for the Flight-Simmer/Sim-racer

😃😃

The typical being square 40×40mm or 80-20 cut to the lengths that you need, and then you use T-Nuts to fasten the bolts to the frame..  I have one myself from SimLab EU an old discontinued version, then you expand on the fasteners-fixings by visiting your local hobby/hardware-store

I'd love that...wife would kill me!

I have to be a little realistic on this. It needs to support all the gear us simmers use but still retain living room appeal. Don't get me wrong I think the above is wonderful in any living room and so would all my mates but the wife and her mates would hate it!

Ahh... Living Room friendly 😵😳😳😳 That's something else, this a Good Flexible DIY-solution, but it might not win any Beauty-contests

If you don't have a seperate room for it, it would be a bit more Tricky 🤔🤔🤔😳😳😲

I think Cable-managment would be *very important* in a living room if you are going for WAF-friendly solution?

But maybe you could combine a nice looking Office-Desk(like fppilot mentions) with Alu-extrusion *under it* (to be a bit more flexible I mean)

Clean and simple! Just like my Hjet!😁  I am embarassed that wire to the rudder pedals is showing.🤫  Need to tidy that up.

My mouse pad is a suade notepad laid on top of an open file drawer containing hanging file folders.  The keyboard just sits on top of and bridges a Honeycomb Alpha and Beta.  I use Fltplan.co app on the iPad.  It connects to the sim to provide a live moving map with real weather and wind barbs.

Clean and simple!

That's very similar to mine but as you can see the keyboard is in such an awkward position

My keyboard is just fine.  I slides back flush against the rear sides of the bezels of the Alpha and Beta.

What I meant was it's fine when flying but for when you need to work or do other PC stuff it becomes a hassle to remove the yoke to reposition a QWERTY keyboard.

I'd add a pic of my messy table but have no idea how to upload it here.

Yupp, since you can't upload a picture *with the posting* it is a bit cumbersome when you don't have a picture-hosting solution any more. I have a few pictures of my rig, I could have shared.. but missing upload with post..

(in the past I had a Photobucket account.. *but* never using THAT again..) 🙁 I have had a few security breaches from some of my logins around web, and I am quite selective/cautious about such services from now on. I don't want EVEN MORE SPAM... yukk. I can't even use Googledrive or Microsoft Onedrive. fills up with spam "daily" or even more often, especially on the Android(Samsung) phone So those had to be disabled on my phone 🙁🙁

Are you handy/crafty with wood? Then you could make a beatiful solution DIY. but lacking those skills, would make it less desireable to make it with wood,

Dazzystar, try an contact those open rigs people, they make a lot of plans really skilled people! 😊

I'm sure you could explain your dilema, needs a HIGH WAF-factor, for living-room use, maybe they can they design or modify a solution for your use/needs perhaps?

I lack those wood-skills my self, 😱 *measure quadruple* CUT WRONG anyway.. 😒😔 dooh

That's why I chose aluminium extrusion, after seeing how flexible theese types of rigs are.. 😊
