Heh, very barebone compared to many of the awesome flight sim setups in here

Yours is actually neat, a no-nonsense approach. I see you also use a VKB Gladiator NXT. How do you deal with the desk height and the spring forces?

When I used to have my stick on the desk, my wrist was grabbing the stick at an angle. Even with the lightest springs, my wrists hurt a bit. I had to put the stick off-desk, over some kind of a bench seat. It's hard to explain without pictures. The end result is that the stick sits now lower, as if I was using a mount, but it's not as neat as I'd have liked.

I think it just comes down to not feeling it in the wrist the same way you to. Resting my elbow on the desk and holding the stick, while that is a very slightly angle, it's still very comfortable for me at least. But I see what you mean, perhaps one of those table clamps that allow you to have it sitting at chair armrest height could be something worth looking into?

I have meanwhile 3 of them (2 XL and one PLUS)

I have had formerly (partly self built) switchpanels with countless switches. I got crazy to remember all these switches for different aircraft.
Or have labled them twice or third (simply think about EFIS buttons difference 737 and Airbus) and then take some multiengine oldtimer into account, e.g. DC-6

StreamDeck is the holy grail for me (until there's something better 😉 ) as I can't control my different aircrafts now nearly without mouse.
Plus having some little gauges also (to control temps e.g) to have everything at one glance without switching views.

I agree - and using your profiles from Flightsim.to has saved me countless hours of customization so thank you very much for your contributions!

Nice, a Fractal Torrent sighting.   Also thanks for the closeup of the Streamdeck.

Are your rudder pedals bolted to the floor?

Thank you,

I love this case, it was a dream to build and the power supply being at the top is such a great idea. I have a piece of 1 X 4 between the baseboard and the rudder pedals, these things weigh a ton and don't move around. They can be mounted to a piece of wood I just neve found the need to do it. I really do need to do a bit more cable management under the desk though lol

Nice setup Richard - am surprised we don't see A320 throttle handles on your Bravo !

My humble apartment setup - to be honest the best part is the nice small computer 😄

If you can do basic carpentry work and pop-riveting then here's an option. I found an old "C frame table" by which I mean the steel frame is C shaped when viewed side-on. Like the tables that slide into the side of a bed. But find an old one that has a decent metal frame and not one out of China.. A bit of plywood on the bottom to screw rudder pedals onto and the yoke and other hardware is screwed down onto the solid wooden top with home made brackets from aluminium strips.. The saitek switches module hangs down (couple of small brackets need to be made) underneath the yoke (roughly where it should be) and throttle quads fit easily on the r/h side using their clamps.  I built an aluminium frame screwed onto the top of the yoke for a touchscreen, with the aluminium frame extending to the right to help support other modules, of which the lowest one should be raised above the table top enough so as throttle clamps can slide in under it. Actual design will depend on brand and type of modules obtained. The table I got is 700mm wide and about 400mm deep so takes up very little space  Use some plywood to make a side wall on it (which helps brace the whole thing) with shelving to take all the USB power units etc and put some order into all the cables. (I have 15 separate modules all of which have at least one cable each) and then it can be pushed to any corner of a room after use. Also, as the base is two metal bars on the carpet, I have found that some cordage (light rope) needs to be tied between the base and chair so as when brakes are applied the rig does not slowly slide away from the chair.  Also, as I project onto a screen, I dont need somewhere to place the primary monitor.  A small portable foldable table serves as a place for the keyboard and mouse.

I have to be a little realistic on this. It needs to support all the gear us simmers use but still retain living room appeal.

i gave you an upvote for your humor 🙂

this is how it all starts, but eventually you'll be wanting to add mfd's, ufc's, shakers....then a 20+nm direct drive wheel base, race pedals, handbrakes ...  ....   ....   ....   ... then living room appeal really means uhhhhhm? 😛
