I think you are referring to the 5800X3D which is AM4 Platform compatible and thus uses DDR4 RAM as opposed to the 7800X3D which is the AM5 Platform and requires DDR 5 RAM. It is also not a GPU but rather a CPU. So if you can double check and make sure you have your names and terms correct so everyone is on the same page. I can't, Avsim will not allow me to edit it. But you are correct. I installed the 5800X3D about 30 minutes ago which is why I was not online. Took me awhile. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. August 31, 20232 yr off topic but old cpu 5600X new is 5800X3D. 1: The fps increase in msfs is about 22% or so (more than 20, less than 25 in my tests so far). I've only flown one flight since installing X3D cpu, so I can't be sure. 2: DLSS 2: continues to outshine any other mode. For instance just now with the render preset on Ultra: switching from DLSS (quality) to TAA: DLSS 2 =52fps TAA=32fps. I could really care less about slightly less sharp glass displays, because the fps increase is just enormous DLSS 2 vs. TAA. It was also enormous on my old 5600X cpu. 3: Dev Mode fps display show cpu green with the new cpu. It was yellow with the old cpu. EDIT: 4: On the other hand cpu temps are about 7 degrees hotter with the new cpu Edited August 31, 20232 yr by Fielder 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. August 31, 20232 yr " 4: On the other hand cpu temps are about 7 degrees hotter with the new cpu " I brought the temps down using the information here. It's a site to explain how to "tune" the 5800X3D. https://github.com/PrimeO7/How-to-undervolt-AMD-RYZEN-5800X3D-Guide-with-PBO2-Tuner/blob/main/README.md It will work with any cpu where the manufacturer locked out tuning. It does not increase cpu speeds and will reduce heat. The last link below is where to find debug-cli.7z. If you create a shortcut to the .exe file with modifiers like -30 -30 -30 -30 -30 -30 -30 -30 , then it will do it all with one click. Or the link above is for setting a windows task schedule to do it every time automatically you boot the computer (it's working for me). Tools: https://www.ocbase.com/download (to test if its working, i.e. reducing voltage). https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OswZcZ72jhm_Neek9c7PV-aRhM1EuOrX/view?pli=1 (this is the modifying app). You can run a batch file or use the windows task scheduler. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. I think it’s like the other dlss iterations, we can just update the DLLs and it will work, because the Nvidia tech is on the hardware side (doesn’t need a new video driver). It’s different for FSR that needs a new video driver. But again, the game needs to have ray tracing implemented so the new version of the DLLs will work. 9800X3D@H150i // Msi RTX 5090 Trio OC // 64GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 // 2TB + 1TB Nvme Dell 27" 2127DGF - 1440p - Gsync - 165hz Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel

EDIT: 4: On the other hand cpu temps are about 7 degrees hotter with the new cpu Having been running the 5800X3D for about 6 months now along with an RTX3080, I can say that I concur with all of this. Running with the case open was enough to get my temperatures down to acceptable levels along with running locked at 30 FPS (I also upgraded from the 5600X). I am pretty much running everything at ultra at 1440 rez and the increase from 30FPS to 60 fps or unlimited does make everything run very hot and my fans are running like the clappers whereas I rarely even hear them at 30 fps. August 31, 20232 yr When I was a kid we had no air conditioner. But there was a fan in the window 1 foot from my bed that sounded out white noise. Lived in the countryside, so no noises to block, but learned to love the sounds which fans make. Soothing to my ears. My cooler is Corsair H60. But I substituted Noctua NF-F12 fan for the fan in the box. NF-F12 run at 4,200 rpm at full speed (specs say 3,000 rpm, but it runs 4,200 at 100%). I like the sound. Steve Burke tested several fans. His results showed how well NF-F12 cooled. But he down rated it because of the noise. I bought it anyway :). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KFCRATC/ 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
