Are V4/V5 aircraft compatible with V6?

Featured Replies

I apologize if this question has been asked already, but it's a busy forum, and I had problems finding the answers in the search box. It sucks to buy a copy of Prepar3D, only to find out aircraft developers are abandoning the platform. I hope and pray existing products are compatible with V6...

There is one YT guru who is able to install everything, the thing is that even installed, those are often pitch black inside, also those are not fully functional but flyable.

I successfully installed the PMDG 777 200 LR and have been using it flawlessly.

Next I will try to make a clean install of ORBX Central, and then try FTX Global using a trick mentioned on a thread I have just posted here at the forum.

But I may well end up having to buy v5.4 to be able to use the FSLabs 319, 20... unless FSLabs announces native v6 installers or at least a firm intention of making them available, Concorde included...

I sure would like the 777 installed in V6 but it is beyond me. Not complaining, just acknowledging a fact. I'm hoping eventually to see more aircraft available for V6. The majestic Dash 8 is very good and it's great to have it for V6.

While V5.4 has evolved into something quite good for me V6 especially with ASN is the next step beyond. Opinions are all over the map on this sat the moment. With add on Cdn airports being available from coast to coast it is enjoyable. if I had to choose two sims they would be V6 and XP12. A distant third would be MSFS.

I look forward to seeing more add on aircraft available for V6 and i'm ready to dust off the credit card for them.

Your best bet is to review the responses in this post as this as far as I know is the most comprehensive of list about v6 compatibility.

Do you have a specific product you are concerned about?

Most of the freeware birds that work in version 4or 5 work in v6 including the fantastic Manfred Jan C47.  All my A2a aircraft are totally functional. The JUst Flight C46 works by pointing the installer. All the Aeroplane Heaven birds avalable through ORBX by coping files from ORBX library to simobject folder in v6. That’s my list so far. Unfortunately the great Milviz freeware doesn’t seem to work in v6.

Change the registry path-it is easy enough to do (search the forums).

I installed it but the lack of Trueglass effects has put me off flying it.
