October 9, 20232 yr I may look silly because I keep bringing stuff that is more than well known to most of you fellow P3D simmers :-), but I have to express my very positive surprise with the results of running P3dv5.4 now with LC Europe... My only paid product from Orbx, since I purchased it around 2013, has been Global Base Pack, which I also installed for a while in P3dv6 and even in that new version does make a difference!!!, but I had never even considered LC or Vector, in the past because my desktop PCs weren't that powerful but also because I use flight simulators 90% of the time to simulate airliner flying. But this turn around and because a friend commented how good LC was, I decided to give it a try. Well, so fact the impact in performance appears to be imperceptible, while the visuals do change significantly. It's not the photogrammetry of MFS OFC, but I wasn't expecting to actually feel more at home with the results provided by Open LC Europe near my base operations for soaring IRL. Even a small barrow nearby the town of Montemor-o-Novo is there! Not a big investment, but surely a big improvement 🙂 Now I am just missing a good scenery for LPMA and LPPS. The default airports in v5 are acceptably modelled, at LPMA even with the dual PAPIs for rw 05, but I miss something like "Aerosoft Madeira X Evo" which has to be manually added to the Scenery Library and get's hidden for FSHUD tobe able to provide ATC from or into LPMA and LPPS 😞 Wonder why MK-Studios or other dev hasn't created a decent scenery for Madeira? They did it for some of the Azores airfields... Back to OpenLC Europe, KUDOS to Orbx for the job done here ! October 9, 20232 yr Yes, the openLC series is very good in my opinion also. Still holding out for the missing Asia installments... 😔 Best regards, Dimitrios 9950X3D - 64 GB - RX 7900 XTX - TrackIR - Power-LC M39 WQHD - Honeycomb Alpha yoke, Saitek pedals & throttles in a crummy home-cockpit - MSFS for props, P3D for jets
October 9, 20232 yr For someone who has almost all the OrbX products, as well as a lot of v5 scenery and airplanes like me, it's hard to justify investing in another platform practically from scratch. And now with a new GPU where I can increase the settings at will, even more so. And I don't deny the beauty of the other platform, but beauty isn't everything... 13600KF - AIO - 32GB DDR4 - RTX4070 - UW1440p GSync - USB DAC - 2TB NVMe - Windows 11 Pro - Gladiator NXT EVO - 1 Gbps Fiber - MSFS 2024
October 9, 20232 yr I like the LC products too. It has a kind of beauty of its own. I have all the orbx lc products and still have a lot to discover (Africa / South America). I also hope someday we will get the LC Asia.  Rein
October 9, 20232 yr Guys, I would say you do not need to hope on Asia. It is very clear for more than an year that ORBX is leaving P3D which if you ask me is sad. I can give you new hope - prepare for photorealistic Asia. Because I plan on doing so.Â

Because I plan on doing so. @PavlinS, having a photoreal alternative for an area of the Globe is always great, specially if it can have proper dusk/night/dawn lighting. Regarding Orbx support forP3D, I honestly believe that they will continue to support the platform, as much as I believe they and other developers will probably find good reasons to keep supporting P3d. Users with very specific needs in terms of accuracy, high grade dedicated solutions for training and addons will always opt for Prepar3d... I admire your optimism, however unfortunately I do not share it. So far there is very little evidence on which to base such sanguineness, in fact quite the opposite I would have to say.
