LVFR a321 neo. Worth it?

Featured Replies

Hi, now with the horizon simulations enhancement, is the LVFR a321 Neo worth it? And is it VATSIM friendly?

It flies fine on vatsim. The tablet is essentially the same as the FBW320. I got it on sale so it was worth it for me at the time. I don't fly it much but the mod does make it tolerable. It flies like a toy otherwise. I'm not an Airbus pilot IRL but I can't help but feel that it feels lighter to fly/taxi around compared to the Fenix 320 despite being a bigger plane. My only quibble is the wing textures look like word not allowed from the wing view but apparently LVFR is the only one who can fix that.

But Speaking of fenix I would just wait for their A321 personally unless you just want a long range Neo321. If that's the case then go for it because it's all we got and nothing else for the foreseeable future. Horizon Simulations did a good job with v2 of the mod.

definitely no, is just a mod of the cabin of the FBW a320N just different exterior a little more range, but for long range you already have B787 B747 or a310

No it has its own flight characteristics, adapted to the A21N. It's not study level-precise, of course, but it certainly flies differently from the A20N. It does use the FBW systems, so it does have their custom LNAV, VNAV, EFB etc, so e.g. it's hugely superior (systems-wise) to the FSS E-Jets.
It's not as 100% fleshed out as the FBW, the Kuro 788 or any of the study level payware aicraft, and I fly it least often from between those, but if you want to fly real life routes with the appropriate airplane, it's fine, and yes, also on VATSIM. As said, you use it just like the FBW.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Incorrect, it is not a mod of the FBW A320NX.  The LVFR a321NEO by itself has nothing to do with the FBW a 320.  Only the Horizon Sim mod.

It was totally garbage when it first released.  I sent Ricardo a long email about all the problems. Now they have fixed it to where its the best option we have.  I just flew it yesterday LAX-SLC, I use a flight randomizer so MSFS doesn't get stale.  I'm not sure how accurate it is but I got from LA to SLC and nothing seemed out of place.

I never updated mine so it's a bit different than the one you can get now.  It used to have a detailed cabin with animated passengers but when LVFR moved to new code the cabin and cockpit were fused into one.

Is it worth it?  It's the only option.  Given that Fenix still does not have a IAE engine after how long, how long is it going to take them to get the A319 and A321 to market.  I got it on release for I think 12.99.   flew it quite a bit.  I also have the A319CEO and A320CEO.  The mod for the A319 and A320 are decent because Horizon Sim re-programmed the engine logic and displays.  So Horizon has done a bit above and beyond FBW.  Also, now it is not reliant on the A320FBW at all. They are all completely separate.

The exterior model is pretty good, but the stock paints aren't great, luckily there are a lot of good repaints on flightsim.to.

FBW integration is seamless, no weirdness.  Weights are correct.

Wing view isn't as good as Fenix of course.  It isn't horrible either.

I like the A319 and A320 because with the IAE engine variants you get different displayed parameters.  This is what it will look like most likely with the new LVFR A321 CEO which is what they are currently working.  It seem Horizon believes the products are good enough to keep modding since they have decided to not do anything with Captain Sim airplanes anymore.

Some people see this as horizon sim boosting the sales of an "inferior product"  But Latin VFR has said from the beginning this is not for PC users. Over the past months Latin VFR have continuously improved displays and added their own EFB with simbrief and Navigraph.  Of course, if you have PC, you can use this Horizon mod instead.

XBOXers can't get the headwind so this makes sense.  I'd be interested in an A330-200 and A340-300, but from the looks of it they are not updating the fonts, which is my biggest criticisim of the stock Asobo A320N.  Hopefully its sub $20.

They said the A340 will be VATSIM ready at launch, so they're not just aiming for console pilots.

Yeah, they must be making enough money that it is worth it for them to invest in new team members that can do custom programming.  That is the only thing that has impressed me about LVFR recently is they really are commited to making these planes better.  Their current product line with out the Horizon mod is already working that way, but they are still using the old Asobo font that looks nothing like a real Airbus.  I really hope they change the fonts, then it might be a Airbus X kind of deal.  Not high fidelety but not low grade BS either.

Hi

I‘m interested too but I read a lot of CTD with this aircraft. Has this been fixed?

Kind Regards

Patrick
