October 22, 20232 yr Hi all, Not sure how many of you still use PFPX, but I still find it the most robust dispatching system available. I noticed today that the weather information (METARs/TAFs, not to be confused with winds aloft data) is almost a week old, from 16-Oct. NOTAMs and winds aloft are updating correctly, and everything shows current (green) at the bottom right, however, weather reports/forecasts are old. I deleted the data in the TEMP folder and it still pulls WX info from 16-Oct. Anyone else seeing this? I would seek support from Aerosoft but they have abandoned PFPX and the forum there is read-only. Thanks, Ben NOAA changed the URL of the servers they use to provide METAR/TAF data about one week ago. Ordinarily an app that provides weather data would simply need to be updated by its developer with the new server addresses, but since PFPX is apparently no longer actively supported, perhaps that is not possible? October 22, 20232 yr Moderator I still use PFPX but my weather source is Active Sky. I’d be amazed if the url for the METARs was hard coded. It’s probably configurable if you look deep enough. October 23, 20232 yr I agree. In my view it is still the best dispatching system currently available for various reasons. I am seeing the same thing. I do not get any METAR and TAF data but do get winds aloft. It works with Active Sky. On another forum I seem to remember to have read I while back that another individual will try and maintain PFPX going forward. I hope that this lack of info will be taken care of. I am trying to find that Forum and contact the individual. Edited October 23, 20232 yr by N119UA Grammar Søren Geertsen
October 23, 20232 yr As of this morning PFPX online weather is restored, airmet is however missing currently. For those not using the service subscription wx2pfpx has been updated for the changed URL's, thanks to the dev 🙂 . WX2PFPX will provide an output similar to ActiveSky where that program is not available to use and at a greater resolution for upper winds aloft.

Well as long as the connection can be reestablished I suppose that’s all that matters. Ray (Cheshire, England). October 23, 20232 yr Glad all is well. I love PFPX's capabilities and there really is nothing that comes close to it as far as depth and customisation goes.
October 23, 20232 yr Apparently, many links were broken when the NWS's Aviation Weather Center launched their updated website. Rich Richard Boll Wichita, KS

METAR data looks good, however still receiving no TAF data. Edited November 5, 20232 yr by rnsTitanic Quote

November 11, 20232 yr I've tried to download wx2pfpx. At first it told me api-ms-win-core-path-l1-1-0.dll was missing. after installing that file, I get 2 other errors: 1. No error messages generated. FormatMessageW: Wrong parameter 2. Error loading Python DLL 'C:\Users\Torben\AppData\Local\Temp\_MEI39962\python312.dll'. LoadLibrary: PyInstaller: FormatMessageW failed. Apparently some more files need to be downloaded. I'm using win7 - could that be the issue? Torben Edited November 11, 20232 yr by TorbenJA
