Fixes for PMDG EFB, err, UFT, inbound on Monday: Changelog

Luddite here, fully able to get from gate to gate w/o it, what does this particular EFB offer?  I use the FlyBag in FBW's A320NX where it plays a major role in configuration and each flight that would be hard to live w/o

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I've not seen the performance calculations in there? Have they been added, or am I blind? (Either is possible)...

One thing I prefer on the Boeing(s), at least the FMC gives you numbers!!..

It's Monday morning, where are the fixes? 😉

I just fired up the Operations Center and the PMDG servers are down. I think they're staging it now.

Not really how it works

That is what I was thinking, why would the sever have to go offline in order ad add a couple of update files?

Server is back up and no updates. It must be the other Monday they were  talking about.

...after checking it out, I now know why it wasn't released; Fenix has set the bar too high and PMDG's head is sore. :P

Maybe the update needs a different EFB?   😉

Update now available to version 3.0.82.

So Google maps removed. Well, it was nice while it lasted 🤣

OMG 🤦‍♂️ We can't fix it, so just removed it.

Aircraft config options - completely unrealistic in EFB, but perceived as convenient, so community demands it even though there's functionally zero difference.

Google maps in an EFB - completely unrealistic as literally no EFB software provider uses Google for a base map (satellite in some cases, though not usually found in an airliner - but never a base map); but comfortingly familiar instead of having to use actual charts so community demands it.

Also community: "we're HarDcoRe SimMers, NOT GAmeERZ, so we need ALL the realism!"

Do you guys even know what you want anymore?  😁

They might not user Google Maps, but ForeFlight has a satellite and road "street" map overlay that is pretty nice.  It's fun to have for reference, but no, we don't need it to be realistic.  Navigraph has a decent world map that I think has roads and VFR waypoints.  I can't recall 100% cause I use Navigraph way less than ForeFlight.  I think moving the aircraft config options to the EFB is not necessary either, but again, it's easier to see and tweak the EFB settings than to zoom into the FMC.  For me, I don't really mess with airline config options much.  GSX operates the doors and such, I just enter the fuel and ZFW.  Again, when other developers are including such settings, there is an expectation that it's adopted by everyone else.

I just think the interface and overall implementation of the EFB is rather basic and bland.  We have seen much more from freeware developers, thus it makes this plug-in a little unusual.
