My favourite plane but I got tired of the bad optimisation, the amount of bugs and the abandonment of PMDG made me park it a long time ago.

Abandoned ? The DC-6 has received a number of patches and updates this year, the latest as recent as 6th November. Whether they resolved problems such as the AP hold is another issue, but the fact that PMDG are trying to do something shows the aircraft has not been abandoned.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

How many years has it taken to solve all the problems, many of them very annoying? They themselves say that they use the crumbs to devote some time to solving problems that should have been solved long ago.

I could say the same thing about several developers and even over the last several years. PMDG products are not garbage and I love their products for what they are. I will vouch for PMDG in that the DC-6 did not always have issues with navigation/oscillation when tracking. It did at a few times then I wouldn't. PMDG even acknowledged that this problem was intermittent and did not, in fact, effect all users. For me, it happened more times that I'd like to admit. When it did happen, it was annoying. When it didn't, it worked flawlessly. My guess was there was a conflict from Asobo's end (working title ended up helping them which leads me to believe there was a conflict from a Sim Update, mods/addons or something in the marketplace regarding nav).

Thank you for clarifying this but I am surprised anyone would call it "abandoned" when it did receive several patches.

Everytime I received an update about PMDG DC6 I will give it a try, and each time it ends with a malfunctional AP system(only use VOR for me).

What does it do when it fails?

The DC-6 ha received some "symbolic" patches recently, but just to show that it is not abandoned, substantially it remains broken or bugged at best.

In what sense is it bugged or broken?

II have the latest version of the PMDG DC-6 with the stock GNS430. I found a simple solution to tracking problems.  Set the VOR frequency to your first waypoint, or somewhere close before you takeoff and engage the Gryopilot.  I find it tracks perfectly every time if I do this.

After 5 discussion pages on the gyropilot reliability and more than 50 guys stopped to fly the Dc-6 because bugs, you are asking me "what sense"? 😂😂😂

Yes. Because not everyone has these problems any longer. You yourself even admitted this was fixed in the PMDG forums so I am confused, really.

I never told it was fixed, I'm testing it and I find the gyropilot not reliable, as I wrote previously and many times regarding this topic. The bright side isn't so clear, and you have to pay attention to the majority of the users that has problems with the dc-6.

That is fine, I might be wrong here. But still, watching the forums here and there, it seems like the issue is not present with everyone. This, I think, is my main point.

I had this issue (not tracking, be it GPS or VOR etc) off and on for several months. This was not ok for PMDG to ignore for as long as they did. That is their fault without a doubt. Again, not everyone is having this issue. Some don't have this issue at all. I had it a few times. After the recent two fixes, I have not experienced these problems.

I keep Navigraph Updated, I use Pilot2ATC for ATC, AIG traffic and a ton of scenery that I ensure is updated. FS2Crew RAAS, AI Ground/AI Flow, Head tracking and FSrealistic. I have a lot of stuff going on but don't have these tracking issues. I even use the JayDee mod that allows the PMS750 (650) in place of the 430 there. Realistic? No. But I don't care. It works and the inputting a flight plan is a lot easier than using dials/knobs in the sim. No thanks.
