Absolutely awesome as ever Reset.

I can't stress enough how amazing you have been, both in what you have actually coded, and how you have dealt with the community.

You have always been so clear in communicating what you are working on and why, you have been open to suggestions, discussed them and taken some of them on board. It's been a joy to be part of this little journey even just reading the posts and making a few replies.

Thank you so much.

As recently mentioned, I have changed my stance on this and will look at trialing an option to set a ground and/or landing TLOD target to achieve.

I’m sure a lot of users will appreciate this! Just hide it in the expert options 🤓

Will do thanks! Is there a way to use 'reduce cloud quality' but only to a hard limit? i.e. setting Ultra clouds, but allowing for High clouds and no less?

Reduce cloud quality only ever goes down one level anyway, if it can, because IMO if it needs to go down even further your default cloud quality setting is too high for your system's capabilities, so you should be set.

Oh don't you worry, it will be. I may even put it in a super expert section all on its own 🤣 <jk>.

Exactly right. Ultra just hammers this older system, but High works albeit straining.

@Cpt_PiettJust spitballing here but I am thinking that I could implement this without changing the UI in the latest version at all if people are OK with the TLOD target for ground and landing is simply the TLOD Minimum you already have set in your expert options? The app would have MSFS load in at that TLOD minimum, lock it until you are in the air then work it down to that value by 1000 ft on decent to landing. eg.

I might try it that way first anyway, as it is much simpler to code, and could change it later if required.

I think that should be sufficient! 👍

@Reset XPDR In fact I think this would be an excellent solution 🙂 For those flying 'liners I think it would be important that TLOD doesn't change at all below 1000ft, both on t/o and landing.

Hmm, I'm not sure it isn't best just as you had it before, to be able to set your target FPS and let the app do the work. I am happy to set a minimum of 50 TLOD, but if I am above my FPS target and therefore could be at TLOD 100, I would rather be at that. Seemingly with this, it would reduce me to 50 TLOD anyway. Then it has essentially just become the same as the other version where one set stuff by AGL. The great thing of this version was that you could set your minimum and maximum, but it would keep your TLOD as high as possible if above your frame rate...

I don't think you'll have that issue as Use TLOD Min on ground will be optional, so if unchecked the app will still hunt for the best TLOD for your target FPS while on the ground and stopped, just like before.

But you said here the app would work down to the TLOD minimum.

Do you mean it would work down to the minimum only if you were below the target FPS?

I wouldn't want it to work down to the minimum if I was above the target FPS...

Also here, why is the TLOD staying at 340, I am well above the target FPS and consistently above it, but TLOD is stuck.

Good Grief!  67 screen pages?  Have any of you seen daylight in the past two weeks? LOL?  When this (these?) nears completing would you please start a new topic about it?  Perhaps a different topic for each version and each addon?  This has most of our heads spinning and most of us do not have available time to stay up to day (minute to minute).

Please?

I am on Dynamic Reset 0.3.7, running with settings I made with almost zero knowledge of what I was setting.

Please?

I think you are confusing discussion on two versions of the app, namely the one that you are running in this screenshot and a developmental one I am trialing with Use TLOD minimum on ground, the latter of which no one other than me is currently running. Perhaps just wait until I release a demo version of what I am currently working on.

That's a good question. As you say, your FPS is much higher than the target FPS and your TLOD is below TLOD Max so it should be increasing. I'll see if I can replicate.

Done a bit more testing, for me at least, with that latest version, with the TLOD changes on ground ticked, it is only on the ground that TLOD changes are made, and not when in the air.

And when it is not ticked, no changes at all to TLOD are being made.

Confirmed. I'll look into it now and put out a fix ASAP.

I didn't start a new topic with AutoFPS as it was based on the original DynamicLOD topic of discussion and I wanted to draw upon the experience of previous users for this concept demo phase without risking losing them by migrating to a new topic. Nonetheless, I will start a new topic once AutoFPS gets out of the concept demo stage.

Also, since the 0.3.7 version you are running has automatic advice of updates, you don't even have to read this topic at all until your app notifies you there is something new.
