It can absolutely look great in areas where the simheaven autogen fits and the orthos are good. That doesn't help me in most of the world though, and requires a lot of setup / storage etc. that I just prefer to use for other things. Edit: anyway, I have it on good authority from many XP sim-warriors that scenery is not actually important for flight simulators, so I’m not sure why people are developing these addons for XP? (Not aimed at you…) Fanatics are everywhere I guess, I will continue to enjoy both simulators.:-)

Yeah, those "My d*** is longer than yours" threads are amazing or I would say depressing. I enjoy MSFS and this is the sim I use but I couldn't care less if someone else is having fun with XP or P3D. The fact that they stay with their sim of choice doesn't make my enjoyment less. And it's the same for them. Just let people enjoy what they like and mind your own business.

January 4, 20242 yr My decision to switch to MSFS after holding out with P3Dv4 for the past three years is starting to pay dividends. Whilst the ground handling continues to frustrate me with its sensitivity, I am constantly impressed by the amazing graphics. The quality of the lighting, the impressive performance on my very modest PC, and the outstanding world terrain graphics. Honestly, I was sceptical that this "streaming global photoscenery" could live up to the hype, but it absolutely does! Last night I made a quick circuit at FlyTampa LGKR Corfu. I departed on runway 16....and for the first time ever I turned LEFT to head for the coast of mainland Greece. I never did this in P3D because I would have ended up flying over default scenery, but the mountainous coastal terrain in MSFS was a joy to fly over. It is so satisfying to know that I can fly almost anywhere, and not have to worry about encountering that awful generic default scenery that has plagued Microsoft Flight Simulator and P3D ever since FS5 was released in 1993. The graphics in this version truly are next generation, and I can't wait to fire up the simulator again tonight for another PMDG 737-600 flight in heaven Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester

I think this is one of the strongest points of MSFS. That is runs so well, gives such good FPS with the best level of graphics for a home market sim, on a very modest PC. And that's before frame generation. Once you add in frame generation, it's just icing on the cake. Edited January 4, 20242 yr by abrams_tank i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
January 4, 20242 yr In general it is very good graphically especially if where you fly has good coverage, but beware that it is not perfect my home base is LEMU and mfs converts the greenhouses that are taken as a reference to enter the circuit as in a typical city in the Middle East.
