New Eurofox LSA available in Marketplace

Featured Replies

LSAs.... there are so many of them available for MSFS.... and none have reached a quality level above 'average (just)', with the exception of FS Reborn's Sting S4.

A new Eurofox has been released to the Marketplace today.  The Eurofox is one of my favourite LSAs and I have around 30 hours in the real plane.

This preview video is very poor - no demo of the sounds, very little sight of the interior, etc.  The nice news about this LSA is that it doesn't use the default Garmin G3X!

I've just bought it but not flown it yet.

I'll come back and give my thoughts when I've tested it (as it's 00:30 here and I'm whacked!). 🥱

Please do report back. I'm learning on the Nynja Skyranger at the moment and the closest thing with a Rotax 912 / 100BHP I could find was the Tecnam P92. Rudder inputs don't feel too realistic though and when I set RPM at say 4,000 I find it fluctuates more than I see IRL - tricky to be sure as I only have a few real hours right now.

I'm familiar with them, havnt flown one but there are a couple in the club I belong to. to me it looks wrong in that video, too short and fat, but look forward to your review.

Always thought the tail wheel versions are gorgeous irl

Morning gents,

Ok, I am about to fire up the sim and check out the Heaven Designs Eurofox(y).

I'll report right back with first impressions.

[EDIT:  Currently have MSFS hanging on "Checking for updates".   Have sat for 10 mins waiting on 2 occasions.  Odd!]

Have you tried https://flightsim.to/file/24138/fk9-mark-4

I Havnt tried it myself but it might come close, I have about 600 hours on the Skyranger swift version and love em but I switched to taildraggers in the last few years...good luck with the training the Ranger will teach you to use your feet and not flatter your landings as much as the near ubiquitous C42s

You’re absolutely right - it all seems to be about feet at the moment. Thanks for the link. This looks like a close match to the Nynja. I’ll download asap.

LSA?

Petraeus

Light Sport Aircraft, category sort of between microlight and light aircraft. Though here in the UK we seem to have invented another one covering the recent 600kg microlights, I dunno I'm old and confused.

edit: yeah here it is LSM..(silly imo) https://www.bmaa.org/files/til_600_600kg_Microlights.pdf

Edited by Lonesome Cowboy Burt

Well Burt, waddya know, but G-HAZL on page 4 of that PDF is what I'm learning in.

Thanks again for pointing me to this. I've just been having a fly. It's 80BHP rather than 100BHP so that's a little different but in terms of cockpit style it's a close match to the Nynja.

One thing I find in common with the Tecnam though is I don't notice much adverse yaw. In a lesson recently we were doing some left/right exaggerated rolls to demonstrate how much adverse yaw was induced. I really don't see much in MSFS though. Would you agree or is my lack of real world experience causing my confusion?

update - found some interesting stuff on adverse yaw https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/adverse-yaw-slip-aircraft-list/572506/7

Hello gents,

Sorry for disappearing, just after promising to check out the new Eurofox!  I lost my entire broadband supply on Saturday morning.  It was just repaired 10 minutes ago.

So I'm about to try to boot up MSFS - slightly nervous about anything I may have broken, when I thought the issue was with MSFS and not my Broadband!

Hopefully report back soon with some images and thoughts.

This thing is set up SO BAD.   Avoid at all costs.

I've taken some screenies below but to be honest, how it looks irrelevent, because:-

  • Brakes are stuck on. (There is always a degree of brakes stuck on, evidenced by the fact that you get dragged to a halt when freewheeling. When parking brake is set and you release it, you can't move - even at full power - unless you go full left or right with the rudder?!?!?!
  • The RPM gauge is correctly showing 0-5800 for a Rotax - yet the aircraft's actual revs are following the prop, so you never see more than 2500rpm, on a guage that goes up to 7000RPM!!!!!!
  • Sounds appear to be aliased to the C152..... they are not even an attempt at Rotax sounds.
  • FDE is a mess.... doesn't even attempt to come close to the numbers.  For a start, you need one heck of a long take off roll, due to the brakes being stuck on!!!!
  • It's even worse than the recently-released Pixelplanes Breezer Sport - and that's saying something.
  • Needs a huge re-cfg'ing by someone who knows what a Rotax is and how it's set up. It's quite frankly embarrassing
  • EFB just toggles "camping equipment" and static ground objects.  Would have been nice but they needed to have brakes that actually release, engine RPMs that match the gauge, and something approaching realistic FDE numbers.

Worst of all is that because this is from the Marketplace and encrypted, neither I nor anybody else cannot get into those CFG files to fix this absolute garbage. 😡

Worse, Heaven Designs have no website I can find, and have no contact details at all on their YouTube page:-

https://www.youtube.com/@HeavenDesignsSim

So how can users report the many issues?   This is as close to a scam as you will find in FS payware.

Yea whilst taking into account adverse Yaw is aircraft dependent (some with frise ailerons/offset hinges/differential travel will always have less) I agree it always seems under modeled in MSFS, P factor and Torque too always seems under done, noticeable when doing a maximum angle of climb hardly any boot required. (edit: In prop singles )

I tend to regard these sims as mostly Fun but with the added capability of learning systems and keeping the muscle memory   in some sort of order if you have large gaps in flying (they are never gonna be close to the real thing in dynamics whatever they say about using CFD etc IMO). Oh and with MSFS of course the ability to familiarise with the visual aspect  of practically any route you want to fly and most airports too.

Doesn't Microsoft have standards before something is released in the Marketplace? Aren't addons tested?

If captain sim made it to marketplace I don't think they really test actual simulation quality withing MSFS . May be MS just test file integrity and obvious conflict causing CTD at start

I "reached out" to the developer, Heaven Designs, at [email protected] giving full details of all the issues and bugs I found.

He replied very politely saying that he's sorry, and would I like to choose another addon from Heaven Designs, for free, to make up for it....

So I politely replied and said I didn't want any other addons, but if he would like to send me over the engines.cfg, systems.cfg and flightmodel.cfg, I might be able to fix most of the problems.

We'll see.
