SU4 was running perfectly, my performance was incredible but now I’m seeing a hit. I’m using the same settings in both the sim and AutoFPS. When I turn off AutoFPS my FPS hold solid but my LOD remain static. I wish I could have stayed on SU4 with 4.6.4 as it was running perfectly. The same AutoFPS settings in 0.5.0.0 should deliver the same experience as 0.4.6.4 did, as I did not really touch existing functionality when creating 0.5.0.0, so it is most likely that the change from SU4 to SU5 is giving you this diminished experience. The easiest way to tell if AutoFPS is the culprit is to note what TLOD and OLOD AutoFPS has set in a poor performance scenario, quit AutoFPS then set those exact values in MSFS settings. If the result is the same, MSFS behaviour is the issue. It was in versions prior to 0.5.0.0 and did the following: LOS-C Line of Sight Correction: Adjusts TLOD between Alt TLOD Base and Top such that the viewing distance grows quickly at lower altitudes but more slowly at higher altitudes. Provides a more realistic experience of horizon expansion as altitude increases, rather than the linear increase when disabled, following a square root curve. Disabled by default, as the larger TLOD changes it makes at lower altitudes may cause FPS drops and stutters on some systems. It was removed because it was rarely used, caused the issue mentioned in the last dot point and unnecessarily complicated some of the automation calculations. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
May 6May 6 Auto FPS is now not connecting to the latest 2024 sim and when I click on an update asking if I want to load the latest Auto FPS test update, I get an error message that says File does not exist at the given URL. What do I need to do to fix this? Thanks. Al
May 6May 6 I find the new version works really well with SU5. I put Auto FPS in my virus exclusions. I think it helps. Windows is very aggressive these days. Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090

Aircrafts: general aviation (Baron 58 Pro and Caravan Black Square, etc.) and airliners (A320 Fenix, 738 PMDG, etc.) FPS: 40 FPS via the Nvidia control panel (the goal is twofold: silence and moderate temperature in the office). MSFS settings: TLOD = 200, OLOD = 150 With my configuration (see signature) and only with airliners, I experienced stuttering on final approach (from around 400 ft AGL) and while taxiing at major airports like EGLL (IniScene) or EDFF (Aerosoft), which made the immersion disappointing, especially since it occurred after 1.5 hours of flight, precisely when I was trying my hardest to finish in style. I tested AutoFPS, and with the settings infra, I no longer encountered stuttering. For me, it's a real plus. Many thanks for your work. With the configuration (post above), MSFS_AutoFPS proves very useful for preventing VRAM overflow. Indeed, although it's not its primary purpose, I've noticed that with: A320Fenix, GSX, FSTL, BATC EDDF (Aerosoft) TLOD 250 - OLOD 200 without MSFS_AutoFPS, MSFS 2024 uses 13 GB out of 16 GB. with: A320Fenix, GSX, FSTL, BATC EDDF (Aerosoft) TLOD 250 - OLOD 200 With MSFS_AutoFPS (TLOD 100 up to 500 ft, then 300 upon reaching 1500 ft), MSFS 2024 uses 12 GB out of 16 GB. Out of curiousity, what app version are you running and to what specific app version is it trying to update you to? Regardless, you can always manually update to the latest app version by downloading from here at the bottom of the page and running the installer. May 6May 6 On first flight with 0.5.0.1 Test2, my TLOD is not increasing above TLOD Base Min in FPS Sensitivity, FixedFPS mode. In the previous version, TLOD would increase up to TLOD Top Max on climb out and reach TLOD Top Max with plenty of headroom. With this test version, TLOD isn't increasing at all. Ryan

Thanks for letting me know. I will look into it. Any chance you can PM me the contentls of your associated log file, located in %appdata%\MSFS_AutoFPS\log, which will make it easier to find what the issue is. What Extra mode are you using BTW? Fixed, Extra or Free? Also are you using Start Max or not (implied no if you are starting from TLOD Base Min)? Anything you can provide that will allow me to recreate will help me find and fix it quicker. FYI, there is a fix in the upcoming Test3 that addresses a very specific stuck TLOD situation when TLOD is on its way down, not up, so probably not related. Edit: I just tried to recreate this issue using Test2, trying Fixed, Extra and Free, and as long as you are above Alt TLOD Base, achieving your system fixed FPS and your target FPS matches it, then TLOD always increases. The only way I can get TLOD to not increase is if your current FPS never gets to at least match your target FPS, but the app will eventually warn you of this by making the target FPS text box background go orange like this: Edit2: Another user just provided me a log showing they encountered the stuck TLOD situation with Fixed Target FPS with Test2. As it very well could be the issue you have been encountering, I have gone ahead and released Test3 so I suggest you update to it and let me know if it still happens or not. Just run the installer and click on the Update button without changing anything else and your current settings will be preserved. It will only reset your existing settings if you select the Reset Configs option, so make sure that one remains unchecked. This app supports both MSFS 2020 and 2024, keeps separate settings for each and auto switches based on what MSFS version you currently have running. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
May 8May 8 I'm at my wits end about something: no matter what settings I use (SIM and autoFPS), I get terrible stutters from take off until about 500-600 ft up. I use a starting TLOD of 50 and OLOD of 100. Testing in both 2D and VR. Using Crystal Light when in VR. Currently testing with DLSS set to Balanced. Frames capped in-sim at 35 and Dynamic settings turned on at 35fps. 7800X3D, RTX 4090, 64Gb of 6000 ram. I am not using an airliner. I am doing all my flying right now in the Beachcraft Bonanza G36, cruising at about 3000 feet. I should also add that my Community folder has nothing in it except a couple of needed utilities and Navigraph. I removed everything else for testing. Everything seems like its doing very well, except for those takeoffs to about 600 ft. I have tried at KLAS, KJFK,and KMIA so far. autoFPS settings: General: Fixed, NFR or VR, FPS: 35, Flight type: VFR, FPS Sensitivity, Sens 5, TLOD base min: 50@1000ft, 800@6000, Extra 1.5, TLOD Top Max: 800@6000, AutoLOD Base: 100@2000, OLOD Top: 20@10000 I akm hoping someone can tell me what to try to get takeoffs under control instead of stutter fests.
