It looks like we have this sorted now, with 2 users, who couldn't get any of the first 9 test versions to work,  now up and running with test 10. My thanks go out to @deepstarand @Sansemianofor persisting with helping me get to the bottom of the issue.

As such I am pleased to announce it is safe to go back in the AutoFPS testing waters if you'd like to help out with making the next update, which is getting very close to being releasable, a solid one with your feedback.

I wish I could test it on msfs2020 but after deleting as you told me to do I couldn't reconnect it to the simulator.

Just did a couple of test flights with test version 10.......all worked well. MSFS 2024 Store version.

One flight clouds dropped from Ultra to high and bounced back to Ultra so it worked as it should . The second flight they stayed at Ultra.....all due too the weather around Vancouver so everything seems to be working great for me.

I'll do a test with MSFS 2020 later.

I may have suggested you remove it to do a clean install, but not actually delete it.

In any case, I suggest you try the installing latest 0.4.4.2-test version, currently test 10, that you can download here https://github.com/ResetXPDR/MSFS_AutoFPS/releases/tag/v0.4.4.2-test and see how you go because it should work with both MSFS 2020 and 2024. To be sure you have a fresh start, check the clean install option when installing as shown:

hello

First of all I would like to congratulate you on the brilliant program, but I have noticed the following problem. I have an RTX3090 and a Frame Generation Mod installed, which unfortunately doesn't work with my triple monitor setup. Very strong flickering of the middle screen. Now when I start a flight and AutoFPS is running I get about 22 FPS, after about 5 minutes I activate FG and reset AutoFPS I get about 60 FPS. Shortly afterwards I deactivate FG again in the sim and watch the FPS in AutoFPS stay at around 60 FPS until landing.
Would that be possible if AutoFPS could do it or why is that?

thank you for your decision.

Kind regards Ramon

Every time you activate or deactivate FG you should press the Reset button, otherwise the app doesn't know that you made the change. The app used to auto detect this, but a few versions ago I wanted to reduce the memory interaction of the app with MSFS to only what is necessary and, since users normally leave FG enabled or disabled all the time, it was deemed sufficient to just check it once at start up and have the user press Reset in the normally rare event that they subsequently change it.

Hello

Thanks for your answer. I tested FG and found out that I don't have to activate and deactivate FG. All it takes is that I press reset at 10,000 feet and the FPS starts counting up to around 48 from 20-22. I tested it near LSZH. Would it be possible to add this as an option so that AutoFPS does this automatically if desired.

Kind regards, Ramon

Sorry, but I do not understand what the issue is or what you are asking for.  If the FPS starts counting up when you press Reset at 10000 ft, it can only mean that you enabled FG after starting your flight without FG enabled, which is what the app would have detected when you initially started your flight.

As such, if you are the one enabling FG later, then you are the one that needs to press the Reset button. Just leave FG activated all the time and the app will auto detect it properly at start of the flight and your FPS will read correctly.

Perhaps you are confusing FG Active with FG Inactive, which does affect what FPS you are seeing in the app. If that's the case, then please see the readme which explains how this works in detail.

Just flew from Stansted to Dublin in the Fenix A319. With AutoFPS running. Works fine. 👍

Is there a good tutorial video on how to install the app so I don’t have to read 3000 posts? Thank you in advance!

I think IslandSimPilot made a recent video.

But installation is easy. Download https://github.com/ResetXPDR/MSFS_AutoFPS/releases/tag/v0.4.4.2-test then run the installer. Then start the app after the sim has loaded.

In terms of what settings to use, that is highly dependent on how you use the sim, your hardware etc. The readme is probably a good starting point. Or a good YT video 🙂

Would like to report MSFS 2020 freezing while in VR with the latest build (test10).  It freeze since about 1 week.   Before that, 2020 was really stable and i'm able to do long run (with autofps) without issue.  Sorry, did not had time to do more extensive testing for now.    Basically, no autofps = no freeze.

During the last week, I did several IFR flight with PMDG 737 and if autofps running, the sim freeze periodically.   after 1-2 min it comes back most of the time.

This morning, I reinstalled to get a new config file and same thing with 737.   The log show my last flight with the Hawk T1 just having fun and same thing, freeze.

If you want more info, contact via this thread or direct via PM.
