Should I wait for MSFS 2024, or buy 2020 now?

Recommended Posts

Enjoying MSFS 2020 a lot and will be enjoying MSFS 2024 too.

MSFS 2024 is about 5-7 months away so if you want to fly and can afford it buy MSFS 2020 now and MSFS 2024 later.

These kind of threads remind my of cpu / gpu threads :

” Should I buy a fast cpu / flu now ?”

“ No wait , within a year a faster club/ hou will be released ..”

And this repeats itself 2-3 months after releases …

He's asking about a sim that's due this year, not four years hence. It's perfectly reasonable to question whether he should buy FS20, when it might only be a matter of months before its replacement is released.

I did understand the question.
My answer was a joke, and I thought mentioning the quantum personal computer was an indication of my intention.
French humor.

Seriously,
- if he can wait for a better product, or cannot afford 2 MSFS licenses, then he has to wait.
- if he wants fun right now, he simply has to buy 2020 then, later, 2024 !

This choice is really easy.

As others have stated, addons should be compatible,

I think they said virtually all marketplace add ons would be compatible? Maybe not though. Seems like most will but it’s hard to tell tbh. I expect they’re just covering themselves for any issues tbh.

To answer the question though, I’d get it now. It’s a great game and tbh I’m not convinced that the new version will be trouble free for the first few months anyway, based on what FS2020 was like at the start.

I’ll be keeping both for a while and expect many others will also.

Is it worth getting the msfs2020 deluxe or the standard is ok for starting out? Most like will get the msfs2024 when release this year as well. Also, is the Turtle Beach VelocityOne ok for entry level? There seems to be attachments you can get as well( speaking of the rudder) Is the center stiffen on the stick that big of a deal as I have read from several reviews?

We can safely assume that understanding MSFS2020 is a good way to get accustomed to MSFS2024. It may reduce the steepness of the learning curve once the MSFS2024 is released. MSFS2020 is a very good simulation in many aspects. It adds your quality time in life, not only from the enjoyment it gives but alson patience in troubleshooting; and in some cases, learning to accept limitations.

Deluxe is worth it for the Longitude & 787 alone but depending on what you want to fly, your mileage may vary!..

As stated, it depends on which airplane you absolutely "must" have.. IMHO, the standard edition will keep you happy until the 2024 edition comes out..

Wow, that is cheap. €23.82 for the Standard version of MSFS 2020, €39.24 for the Premium Deluxe version of MSFS.

Wow, that is an affordable price. Though I do not have a dvd drive. From their FAQ.

Does the boxed version of Microsoft Flight Simulator include a download or Steam key?

The boxed version of Microsoft Flight Simulator for PC does include a download Key for Microsoft Store, however, Disc 1 will need to be in your DVD tray to launch Microsoft Flight Simulator.

No Steam key is currently included.

I bought the Deluxe Premium version during a Steam sales. It must have been a month ago.

It's been worth it to learn about MSFS: camera system, menu system, joystick and keyboard configurations... It's even been good to get to know other things, like FSHud.

Either "2024" is something exceptional or I'll stick with 2020 for a long, long time...

Did you remembered the sales price for the Deluxe?? The next sale is in June 27 for steam.
