New Orbx Melbourne (YMML) enroute

Here's some interesting news!

https://fselite.net/content/orbx-teases-melbourne-international-airport-for-p3d

The current v3 is fine/acceptable, but a bit of a performance hog, IIRC.

Yet, if this 'v4' has a named developer, it could be something well worth looking forward to.

I’ve spent ages removing the ugly default jetways at YMML and replacing them with GSX ones. I’ll probably stick with what I have unless there’s a total rewrite to bring it up to modern standards.

YMML for P3Dv5 and v6 will be released soon.

YMML Melbourne International Airport for Prepar3D v5 and v6 - Coming soon! - Orbx Preview Announcements, Screenshots and Videos - Orbx Community and Support Forums (orbxdirect.com)

This is very good news for P3Dv6 users. And I think more airports, regions and LC areas will follow the coming months, because it makes no sense to release a single product (YMML) for P3Dv6 and then stop with it.

All well and good but I would not mind paying a small fee for a decent P3D V6 ORBX Central before this....

Or is this P3D V6 compatible scenery be installed by us as we can? using tricks?....

C'mon ORBX.....

I wonder what happened to this scenery, no mention of it in ORBX forum, June 2024!

The gates in V3 are pretty bad really, this may have addressed them?

Always wondered why no ILS on RWY34, same in real life I am led to believe/

It's still in the works! I am hopeful.🤞

One of the Orbx developers responded to a post I made regarding YMML status back in May.

Basically he said the X-Plane version is being developed first and from there the P3D scenery will then leverage it.

That is one reason I would be reluctant to embrace V6. I like so many others have so much invested in ORBX scenery.

The Orbx post I linked announced this scenery is planned for both v5 and v6. I would assume Orbx will build an appropriate installer for it then if the plan is to offer official sim support for it.
