Just a quick one.  I have the recent release from ORBX.  When I say recent, it was last year.

The ORBX rendition is really nice.  Just wanted to see if anyone else on here owns the ORBX version and if so, are you planning to replace it?

Jase

No, the ORBX one is pretty good. Far more than good enough for an airport I'm not going to use that often in the end.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Wow. Just wow. The attention to detail is insane. This is some of the best I’ve seen so far - perhaps THE best!

It even comes with a GSX profile!

(just got it of course 😄 )

Just did a first impression video which left me speechless. Absolutely amazing, highly recommended! I’ll post the video here once I finish editing and uploading. Wow… 🤩

Great performance! 60 FPS with FSLTL+FSHud with lots of parked + active aircraft. Fenix parked at gate with systems running.

that can't be. with all those useless interior details, so many wasted vectors, textures, and vertices that cost precious fps. 😄

My first impression video:

your norwegian is even better than your english.

very very nice video Captain! Morgenstemning, very suitable.

that guy from Tauranga made it just in time to ENGM, and left the pretty girl in Nelson all by herself. Her name must be Elise. Beethoven wrote "Fuer Elise" for one of his students that he fell in love with. Since she wasn't the best at piano, he made the beginning part really easy for her. However, after learning about her engagement, he was heartbroken and wrote the rest of the song so hard that she would never be able to play it. Many people told Beethoven he would never be a musician just because he was deaf, but he couldn't hear them. 😀

When Beethoven passed away, he was buried in a churchyard. A couple days later, the town drunk was walking through the cemetery and heard some strange noise coming from the area where Beethoven was buried. Terrified, the drunk ran and got the priest to come and listen to it. The priest bent close to the grave and heard some faint, unrecognizable music coming from the grave. Frightened, the priest ran and got the town magistrate.

When the magistrate arrived, he bent his ear to the grave, listened for a moment, and said, "Ah, yes, that's Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, being played backwards."

He listened a while longer, and said, "There's the Eighth Symphony, and it's backwards, too. Most puzzling." So the magistrate kept listening; "There's the Seventh... the Sixth... the Fifth..."

Suddenly the realization of what was happening dawned on the magistrate; he stood up and announced to the crowd that had gathered in the cemetery, "My fellow citizens, there's nothing to worry about. It's just Beethoven decomposing."

Thanks -- great video. Day one purchase for me too, but haven't had a chance to fly from there yet -- but very obviously my money is well spent. I can almost smell the terminal interior!

Mind blowing scenery one of the best, big fan of Jo Erlend his stuff and amazing performance...
He creates a immersive airport environment when arriving at the gate or starting a flight.
As for GSX, we from the GSX communitiy are working on GSX profile with all the bells and whistles with VDGS and simbrief
integration and a hybrid version with the Aerosoft VDGS and a lot more.
All his stuff is a day one purchase 😎

Haha luckily it is, since I spend more time in Norway than on the Executor nowadays 😉

Another opportunity for us to get to know her better! 😄 Thanks for the Beethoven story by the way, I learned something new today.

Thanks! Of course I had to choose Norway's most famous composer, and one of his most well known compositions. He wrote it in 1875 for Henrik Ibsen's drama Peer Gynt, to act as background music.

Some trivia from Wikipedia:

Quote

The piece depicts the rising of the sun during Act 4, scene 1, of Ibsen's play, which finds Peer Gynt stranded in the Moroccan desert after his companions took his yacht and abandoned him there while he slept. The scene begins with the following description: "Dawn. Acacias and palm trees. Peer [Gynt] is sitting in his tree using a wrenched-off branch to defend himself against a group of monkeys."

As the Peer Gynt suites take their pieces out of the original context of the play, "Morning Mood" is not widely known in its original setting, and images of Grieg's Scandinavian origins more frequently spring to the minds of its listeners than those of the desert it was written to depict.

Haha 😆 Thanks! I didn’t look around the airport before recording the video, and I got a bit overwhelmed by how good it looked. I might be a bit biased though since I’ve been there so many times IRL and recognized so much of the interior.

Watch your video and a great one and thank you, especially to have all that background information with a matching accent.
Bergen is beautiful too also the approach in real life, for our Dutchies we are used to a flat country hence even below sea level 🤣
