Will there ever be a dash 8 in msfs?

Majestic missed the mark with MSFS 2020. They failed to strike while the iron was hot.

Hopefully they grab their consumer base back with 2024...or whatever the next sim will be called.🤣

Not sure how they missed the mark. Like most developers working from scratch and was still working on the training/cockpit version. When it comes to MSFS then you know they will be making from it since from what I know, no one else is making one let alone be as good.

Well they have they have mentioned they are making for MSFS. A post by one of the staff Folks... All the best to All for 2024!

Yes, it has been very quiet on the forums but that does not mean work does not continue. All is well amidst our busy 8 to 5 work and family schedules.

Our Team is steadily moving along with development for MSFS 2020, and we will be sure to share information and or images when we are satisfied with the progress.

Stay tuned!

Cheers.

Hi xxx

We will be sure to do so when we feel that it is time to do so.

We will not be sharing images or videos of progress until we have everything aligned to do so.

Bear in mind, we do have other obligations such as other jobs and family obligations (parents, wife and kids).

I can however assure you that work is progressing.

Cheers.

They announced if I remember correctly should be still on the forum somewhere they would be finishing the products for P3D this was when MSFS released. They then came with another update to do with issues they were facing while dealing with MSFS etc. Take Quality Wings for example we heard one thing and a screenshot then nothing. Can't do much when they have other jobs that pays the bills.

Seem like its not full time work for them and these posts are only just over a month ago You could say PMDG as missed a mark by bringing out a the 777-300 first or even just the freighter first/released with the 300. You could say they missed a mark by not bringing out the 747 before the Triple. Maybe they missed the mark by not bringing out the 737 Max. At least Majestic have said things compared to FSLabs. I doubt they are worried they know it will be the best when every it releases.

No doubt FSL is in a worse position with their A320 line due to competition (Fenix, FBW, and now inibuilds).  My gut tells me their first MSFS entry will not be another A320.

Majestic on the other hand has no real competition (at least not yet) in the study level turboprop airliner space.  Maybe the ATR for a “lighter fidelity” experience, but that’s about it.

I agree with some other posters that Just Flight is well positioned to take advantage of this market gap.  A slightly older regional turboprop using their UNS could quite possibly be a top seller for them, and seems to be right up their alley.

Seems to be a steep learning curve to go from developing aircraft for FSX, P3D to developing for FS2020/24. Even larger, experienced teams seem to struggle with it. It would appear the task is almost herculean for small, part time teams. I doubt the issue isn't that people are not berating them to 'hurry up' enough.

Well no, I would say none of that.  Too convoluted. Too much supposition and speculation.  No, my words stand and I believe both FSL and Majestic will rue the years of lost revenue. Revenue from the biggest money generating machine ever seen in the flight simulator world.

All just my opinion to which I am entitled just as you are entitled to yours. Peace,

PS.  PMDG is generating fresh revenue. Gobs of it.  Not so much for the two holdouts.

Only the other day I saw some of the FSLabs team flying the A321 Neo around guarantee they not lose revenue if they decide to make it a package with the CEO variants but may if they do it like a single package who knows. They make money by selling the licences for hardware too. Of course everyone is entitled to an opinion never said they weren't. Of course PMDG is making the most of it but if IFLY release a Max before PMDG and I would say it would be cheaper than PMDG they would of missed the mark even though they say they don't care what IFLY do.

That is correct.  You did not say or even imply that you were against free speech.  Nor did I ever think you were.  Peace,

It's been 4 years and most of the other legacy devs have produced a lineage product from the older platforms( FSX,P3D) for MSFS 2020, while the anticipation hype and excitement was still high.

From a consumer/marketing standpoint they have certainly missed the mark with the MSFS 2020 release. Not getting that sweet Q400 anytime soon while MSFS 2020 is still a thing by the looks of it.

Hopefully he Q400 will be a huge MSFS 2024 release!

Like I previously mentioned they are not full time compared to FSLabs who are. I guess if they were full time we could of had one sooner. We are 4 years without a 747-400/F potentially 5 years away by the time PMDG are finished with releasing the Triple and the Max. 4 years from a decent A330(Aerosoft) People may think they have missed the mark. Others may not. Especially since the product can be used to help train people etc.

Legacy dev's I can think of is PMDG which ported the 737 over and who knows if the Triple will be the same not sure if Ini did the same with the A300 etc from Xplane but took them a while to release.

Definitely "Years" if they are all doing this on their part time.

One thing the Majestic team isn't considering is that MSFS is a much larger market than P3D, and if they come out with their Dash-8 earlier, the sales of their Dash-8 in MSFS could possibly pay for their other jobs.  I think the Majestic team is still stuck in the P3D era, thinking that the sales they will get in MSFS will be comparable to P3D.

Now I don't know what their other jobs are, and maybe they are really well paying jobs (but if they were well paying jobs, I wonder why they developed the Dash-8 for P3D, was it just a hobby that they did more for fun, than for the money?).  However, assuming their other jobs are not jobs that pay very well, maybe they should consider going full time on the Dash-8 for MSFS (or the owner of Majestic consider giving shares to the employees, to incentivize them to quit their jobs and go full time working on the Dash-8).  I say this because we are getting to the point where another reputable 3rd party developer, such as Just Flight, may consider doing the Dash-8 for MSFS.

The last thing Majestic want is for a company to swoop in and make a high fidelity version of the Dash-8, just like Fenix did to FSLabs. I would have said the likelihood of another company making a high fidelity Dash-8 was very low back in 2020 when MSFS was released, but I think that likelihood is not so low today, because the first batch of high fidelity airliners have already come out for MSFS (ie. A320, 737, Maddog, BAe 146, and 777 soon), with other high fidelity airliners in development (iniBuilds A220, A350, A380, Bluebird 757/767), and companies are looking for other planes to do.  Knowing Majestic takes forever and even admitting their employees are working on the Dash-8 part time, it makes sense for another company to just jump in and do a high fidelity Dash-8 before Majestic.  But maybe the other jobs that the Majestic employees have are just too good to give up.

One thing these Devs need to look at in MSFS 20/24 is their older audience that can include retried pilots who flew our classic birds like the Boeing 747-100/200/300/SP, 727, 737-200/300/400/500, 757-200/300, 767-200/300/400, Airbus A300/310, DC-10, McDonnel Douglas L-1011, DC-9, DC-8, Fokker 100, etc. These older aircraft are so much more fun to fly then these newer glass cockpit/fly by wire aircraft.

These developers are missing out on a HUGE market by skipping these aircraft.

GOD BLESS!!!!
