FPS or X-Crafts?

Hints / comments welcome 👍

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

X-Crafts has some very sophisticated modeling but till now no FMS SPD or HOLD functionalities available (i.e. missing some FMA modes), they've internally tested FMS SPD for long time but not released yet. FPS has some better systems, but LNAV is still bugging and VC modeling is quite not good.

So if u are going to fly on vatsim or airports mainly use RNP(-AR) approaches I would like to recommend to wait further.

Its so easy to go to there discussion forums and have a read of issues etc and updates being done. I have the fps 190 and its a nice plane.

I don't have either but i believe you can download a demo of the FPS one to have a look at.

Download EMBRAER195 Demo | FPS Site (flightproceduressimulation.com)

Thank you guys, will try the demo suggested by @jamesb 👍

The FPS 190 aircraft can do GLS and LPV approaches and I have found LNAV works fine

So, I got both...mainly disappointed by X-Crafts but still the FPS one is....nah....

I haven't try anything deep, just daily point A-B, and I don't have studied EJets deeply like Airbus or Boeing. But here is my impressing:

What X-Crafts disappointed me is: too many systems works poorly, like too aggressive FLCH, and too weak Autobrake, as devs says that's because they haven't code their own one, just a shell over XP's default system.

And of course lack of FMS function, main things I misses: HOLD, LRC/CI, FLEX, VNAV approach and OFFSET, 1.1 added FMS Speed and VNAV kinda works for descend, but still....

FPS did much better work on other systems, the AP works smoother (although still some problems), but both of them use a shell on default ND system with wrong symbol and even wrong range marks.

FPS did have more function in FMS, but, it's not EJets' FMS, it's UFMC-which is basically a 737 FMC try it's best to dress like one from Ejets, I mean the functions are there, FLEX works quite OK, but things like the CRZ speed and Flaps selection and the HOLD page are quite wrong as none of the OR> prompt works, despite it's been moved around to match Ejets logic, you'll have to input number like on 737 rather than doing selection like on Ejets. And sometimes it's more toxic as it still want you to press the EXEC button but it's not physically here, normally it give you an ACTIVE> prompt on 6R, but sometimes it confused and not!

The Ejets I've used the most so far is Feelthere in P3D, it looks have proper systems, but sometimes doesn't works as it looks, LNAV turn is everywhere and AT can slow you 5 or more knots below safe speed, etc, etc....

So yeah... pick you pill, none of them are delicious... or healthy...

I kinda lean to use FPS one for now, but unless they make their own FMS from scratch, not much would change as the other systems is already...kinda good..

So as X-Crafts rolling out 1.1 version, with nice addition of FMS SPD, Auto tune and PREV and STEEP Approach, I kinda expect them doing better on the long run? They'll likely add HOLD, maybe VNAV approach, and if they could add FLEX and LRC on FMS and fine tune the autopilot's pitch channel, I could live with that. But that's when I already bought it, if you haven't, then don't buy something floating in the promise, buy what you got now.

I have both, in my opinion X-Crafts.

I apologize for bringing back this post.
With the X-Craft E-Jets being on sale for Black Friday I was thinking of getting the E170 at 50% off. After the recent update to V 1.1.0 it looks this addon offers a lot.

I bought E170 a few days ago.  Its not bad at all.  I ended up buying the family after a few flights.
