Help assigning a drone view to a button?

Featured Replies

I'd like to assign a drone view to a button on a controller, so I can toggle between the drone view and the cockpit view using the button. I've found out how to assign cockpit views to buttons, but that obviously doesn't help because I want the button to select a drone view. And I can assign a button to activate the drone, but then I have to slew the camera around to where I want it, so that doesn't help either.

Is there such a thing as assigning drone views to buttons?

Thanks.

I'm far from competent using the convoluted camera system, but I think you'll have to create and assign a custom exterior view for what you want to accomplish.

If it is anything like fsx, it is in the aircraft.cfg file. Scroll down until you find camera.0

add a new line camera.# (whatever the previous lower digit + 1) and mess around with the parameters

1/ In CONTROLS OPTIONS, select the controller you wish to use.
2/ On the left side, Filter = ALL, then on the list choose CAMERA > DRONE CAMERA > TOGGLE DRONE CAMERA
3/ Assign the controller button to this function.
Very easy 😉

I don't think that was exactly his question.

So you want multiple Drone Views around the aircraft to scroll through via a button? I'm I getting that right?

I simply control the drone with my Xbox controller, I have three buttons bound to Cockpit, Chase & Drone and simply rotate around the plane with the controller, no need for X number of independent views.

No, what I want is to permanently tie a specific drone view to a button on my controller, so when I press that button, the camera goes to exactly the right pre-set spot.

The problem is that I can activate the drone camera, but then I have to slew it around every time to where I want it.

We can save custom cockpit views; what I’m hoping to do is to save a custom drone view, but I can’t find a way to do that.

Parallel 42 Flow Pro is ideal for that. I have the INS button assigned to the drone view and I can go into FLOW, and it gives me a list of drone views available with each aircraft. I select the one I want for the flight and just simply use the INS button to easily access that view.

Lee, are those drone views customizable? Can you save a new drone view if you want one that isn't one of the ones that are available?

I don't think drone views are customizable, maybe in the SDK, which I never use. What I like is that Flow Pro shows what each plane has available. You can get more camera views at Flightsim.to
