Mt. Hood Green snow

Featured Replies

Here is a picture of me flying by Mt. Hood on my way to PDX. I am wondering why the snow looks green? I looked at some of my older screenshots & they do not look like this.

Okay. Pistachio Almond ice cream.  That do the trick on the 4th of July?

And yeah, every time Im at the hood transition (waypoint) I often cringe looking at how bing maps can be. Even google has odd colors.

What did help was changing some of the nvidia filters for me. Your results may vary

Those and Nvidia filter ice cream haha.

Or my martini. Stirred, not shaken.

But seriously, all the different maps out there have their pros/cons.

I remember doing color correction for the NW area for a different sim using bing and/or google maps. Very tedious. Ended up giving up after several terabytes of work.

Denny. I am on the eastern shore and have witnessed the same.  I believe the scenery over that area is tanted by graduated shades of red and blue.  LOL!  🤐

i have upgraded to the 4080 super gpu and do not see any frame generation and i have everything correct in sim and in the invidia control panel for it to work so i thought maybe i have a bad gpu seeing all this weird scenery in various locations in the sim and no frame generation

Part of the reason you see that change is because Baltimore is a photogrammetry area so you will see a distinct changeover at the borders.  If you really want to see some bad terrain transitions fly around the Chicago area!

i tried turning off photogrammetry in the sim and saw no change and their are other areas that the ground coloration

is bad not just around washington but chicago  and in areas where no photogrammetry is. this seems to be a sim issue the just came up this week

to fspilot i follow your comments quite often. i just installed a new 4080super last week  and was getting over 100 fps then as of yestersday , i c hanged nothing fps went back to normal and no longer am getting frame generation, you think this could be a bad 4080 gpu?

You may want to check out using Nvidia filters - it can do some amazing things with colors and lighting.

interesting.... it must be only me because I think it looks fine.  I am looking at your screenshot and looking out my window and honestly looks very close.  The snow may not be as bright but does not look green tinted to me.  Just my thoughts.
