July 15, 20241 yr Trying to setup a flight from CYVR to KSFO using PMDG 777 and my route looks like this. CYVR/26L DCT YYJ DCT ELMAA Q1 ETCHY DCT MLBEC BDEGA3 KSFO/28L I can never seem to get the arrival part to KSFO correct. I am trying to use the ILS 28L arrival procedure but the path doesn't seem to lead me to runway 28L. Could someone please help me find the proper route to get me down to runway 28L at KSFO? I am flying offline without ATC. July 15, 20241 yr whilst in HDG / FLCH on the outbound (140o) vector leg, set up an inbound intercept to EDDYY on track 0210 ....... turning for the intercept from 140 to 1100 for LNAV guidance to the 28L transition. a bit rough, but almost plausible. for now, cheers john martin

The FMC had error with i was on faulty line up and indeed it looked like 28R out of the window. But ILS28L in FMC Latest AIRAC Michael Moe Michael Moe
July 15, 20241 yr I’ve flown this arrival many times IRL Boeings. It’s normal to have a discontinuity after the 140 HDG from the SFO, you’d just be given vectors, so self position using HDG SEL & FLCH if flying without ATC, or after the 140 HDG go direct to EDDYY, it’ll be a pretty similar track to the ATC vectors. 787 captain. July 15, 20241 yr This procedure evolved from this arrival that Jon might remember: https://www.fly.faa.gov/Information/west/zoa/sfo/atcCharts/SFO_STAR_00375GOLDENGATE.pdf
July 16, 20241 yr Indeed I do. On the jumbo we always used to say you needed to be 210kts at flap 5 over the top of the SFO to be in good shape for the inevitable dive down to 5000ft , the sooner you got down the sooner they turned you in to base leg, otherwise you’d have a go down/slow down issue. The other thing we used to do many years ago ( late 90’s) was what was known as the bay departure, up to just 3000ft then visually track the coast line round over the Golden Gate Bridge and into the bay over Alcatraz then blast off at full climb power up to the flight levels. It was great entertainment doing it in a jumbo for, pilots , passengers and those watching on the ground. Sadly they won’t let us do that anymore, all the fun has been sucked out of the world nowadays 😔 787 captain. I don’t think it was actually charted no, but was recognised as an official procedure by ATC so it must have been documented somewhere. Not everyone knew about it, I was introduced to it by the older guys when I started. 787 captain.
