November 6, 20241 yr Today I flew from Lugano (LSZA) to Innsbruck (LOWI). The flight was very pleasant and the controls were easy. I landed on runway 08 on RNAV-Y and from 8300 feet I manually guided it to the runway. It was an incredible pleasure. It is a pity that there are no other turboprop add-ons for P3D v4.5 that would equal the quality of the Majestic Dash 8 Q400. Of course it does not have the same high tech autopilot like the Dash-8. Carenado has nice ATRs or the C208. I know, it's all not the same standard like Majestics aircraft but better than nothing. The Carenado ATR 72-500 is also quite decent even though the FMC is very basic. In terms of other relatively high-quality turboprops, I guess maybe the Milviz KA350i and the Flight 1 King Air B200 could be good options? However, these are quite a bit "smaller" aircraft! i9 14900K / Corsair Nautilus RS ARGB liquid CPU Cooler / MSI Z790 Tomahawk WiFi / 64GB Trident DDR5 RAM @ 7200 mhz / 24GB Gainward 3090 Geforce RTX / 2 TB SSD WD Black SN850X NVMe / 1 TB SSD Samsung 990 Pro series / 2 TB SSD Samsung 980 Pro Series / 500 gb and 250 gb SSD Samsung Evo 850 / RM1000W Corsair PSU - P3Dv5.4, X-Plane 12, X-Plane 11 and FSX
November 7, 20241 yr Yes the F27 from JF is just a good aircraft. I have it since a long time now. It is old school navigation with VOR/NDB, but if you get lost you can always show the default GPS with [SHIFT][2]. Not authentic but can be helpfull. The F27 was reviewed by Mutley's Hangar in July 2015. The score was a 9.4 out of 10. http://mutleyshangar.com/reviews/ag/f27/f27.htm
November 7, 20241 yr @Blasb Ah yes the Kingairs certainly a good option for the distance Lugano to Innsbruck. I have a lot of non-airline turboprops of these kind. @Rein2 That's exactly how I use it with a simbrief flightplan loaded into P3D and shown on the GPS. I think the F27 is one of my oldest still in use plane next to the Flight1 BN-2. @Jla6yx Another interesting airport for these kind of flights is Samedan LSZS. It was a difficult task to descend to the runway in dense clouds using RNAV in one of the flights. But today I will fly the route IFR Innsbruck (LOWI) to Aarhus (EKAH). To choose the route I use the Air Hauler 2 add-on from Just Flight. It is very convenient, you do not have to think where to go, you just choose the task and go. November 7, 20241 yr It’s the most challenging aircraft I’ve used in a simulator. Be sure to enable the higher frequency control update: Now go do some HGS Cat III approaches/landings in bad weather.
November 8, 20241 yr Havent had this out of my Hangar in 18 month or so. I have the Training Edition and the updated Visuals. I remember the training videos from airline2sim which now is gone but they were great. How is Simbrief integrated to it?. What is latest update? Thanks Michael Moe Michael Moe
