  • Ok. You're in the Pilot2ATC version 3.0 thread right now. This isn't the BeyondATC vs FSHud vs SayIntentions vs P2ATC thread.

  • I own P2ATC and, while I appreciate the developer's efforts, I can’t see myself dealing with that outdated UI again.

  • Great. Looks like you didn't really try it at all, or look into anything, and you'll continue using Beyond ATC regardless. Now, can we discuss Pilot2ATC any not every other atc program?

I have been using P2ATC for years and think it's a really mature (probably the most mature) ATC tool that just works very well, and Dave is an excellent developer doing excellent support. However without any chance of traffic injection, better voice recognition or better voices (I've been using the "new" voices already on the current version, it's better but still old technology) this is not gonna cut it in 2024. If they at least brought the UI into the 21st century... but not even that.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

And when you look at their website it plainly states. "Learning curve is significant."  Compare that to a more modern ATC like BATC, where a 15 minute YouTube video will get you going very easily.

Yeah it's kind of my view on it as well.
Look, I've been a user of Pilot2ATC for years, across multiple sims. Had some great times with it. Great interactions with Dave, he's fantastic.

The reality is that it's just not competitive anymore, even with these new features. None of them make me excited to use it again.
Especially not at $30 to upgrade. If it was a free update I might have jumped in to give it a shot. It really needs to innovate to compete in 2024 and I totally get it's easier said than done.
