Or is this regarding a different program? Checkers by yourself isn't fun. Neither is being vectored into a mountain. Good thing you're on this thread for P2ATC. It doesn't do any of that at all. Follows most procedures fairly well. It has plenty of settings that can give the program more leeway vs you just telling it what to do (if you want more suprises). But you telling it only what to do would be lame. Which, yeah...would be boring. It does missed approaches especially when there's an AI traffic on final or entered the runway, it does change runways if the weather permits..... Also, you can "autoplan" and it sets up SID/STAR etc for you. I like using simbrief as a guide. Integrates with simbrief really well by the way. Navigraph, too obvisously. Me, I like using simbrief as a guide and selecting best SID/STARs. Also been using this program for several years and it doesn't taxi me everywhere. Usually pretty simple taxi procedures, too. Last time I looked into Pilot2ATC, it cost a small fortune for some decent voices, the UI made my eyes ache and it looks the same in the updated video, and the learning curve was no fun either. BATC, you start the program and within minutes it just works, and works well. Edited August 21, 20241 yr by Bobsk8

August 21, 20241 yr Ok. You're in the Pilot2ATC version 3.0 thread right now. This isn't the BeyondATC vs FSHud vs SayIntentions vs P2ATC thread. 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.

That said, thanks for the follow-on paragraph which does serve to highlight features to which I'd referenced generically with specific respect to Pilot2ATC. Someone actually explaining as opposed to simply exposing ruffled feathers because someone might see things differently is honestly helpful. The only reason I participated in this thread was because I don't currently use ATC software, but would like to if I could find something that met my needs. It certainly was NOT to diss anyone else's choice or to single out any specific product for criticism. Scott

I would rather ask questions than imply you had any various types of intent. Yeah, unfortunately this thread (and threads like this) get derailed into "this vs that" when it should be about the OP's topic. It drives me nuts. You weren't testy but I assume annoyed having to respond to this haha. Most ATC programs have their pro/cons and I think I was trying to emulate that. P2ATC is fantastic and feature rich. Besides ATC....It takes over my need to use littlenavmap, and most flightplanning. Love it even for VFR when I am doing pattern work. Not just just a vfr flight following. Fun when you have to hold the pattern because other planes are on approach etc. Makes it realistic. Or when you get warned about wake turbulence from the program. September 4, 20241 yr I really like P2ATC as support has been superb and it just works. So I see no reason not to upgrade to v3. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro

September 4, 20241 yr I used P2ATC for years, and liked it, but switched over to Pilot Edge during my RL instrument training. Decided to try out BATC last week for some East Coast flying, and found it was really lacking in basic real world GA procedures. Something as simple as asking direct to a WP to cut a corner threw it for a loop. Documentation was thin and there's this bizarre focus on taxiing to gates and such. I'm looking forward to trying out an updated P2ATC as it's still the closest to RL other than PE that I've seen.
