August 16, 20241 yr Not seen this mentioned here, but as I am still using P2ATC on 90% of my MSFS flights, as well as 100% of flights in other sims, thought I would mention it ! Looks like an evolution, rather than revolution - but definitely improves on some of the shortcomings of the current version - particularly gives more options in terms of voices. Due this month, although no pricing information at this moment. G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron

It certainly isn't the prettiest, I'll give you that - but I would have to say I only normally look at it far enough to download my flightplan and click connect/file. After that I find it pretty faultless for ATC. Only other time I would look at it is if I wanted to select my own procedures (or get a sneak preview of what it was <possibly> going to give me). At least the new one lets you toggle comms/map off AND switch the copilot on and off from the main screen. G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron
August 16, 20241 yr Since no one wants to ever say it, I'll say it! This is what happens when we allow the developer (ASOBO) to go 4 years without improving their flight planner, ATC system, and AI traffic interaction. Now we have to wait for a new version of the sim. I'm tired of having to spend more money on additional add-ons that should be a main part of the platform. This has been going on for me for more than 20 years with 3 different simulators. (No rant, just my feeling.) Having said that, BATC looks like the one that I'll show my support for because the voices sound much more realistic. This new version of P2ATC, still sounds robotic and as been stated the UI looks ancient. MSFS
August 16, 20241 yr I was a long time P2ATC user, but am spoiled by the immersive experience BATC gives and can't go back now. It's the closest thing to Vatsim. Also no idea why they did not modernise that UI. It's been the tool's biggest flaw forever. If this had the UI (and voices) of BATC, it would be the gold standard. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
August 16, 20241 yr I was long time PATC user as well and the support from Dave at PATC is second to none. Also great to hear the app is still being updated. All that said, I am now totally hooked on SayIntentionsAI. I guess it's just not important for the big sim companies to sort out on its own, else they would have done. I dont like that night flying has all the distant, blotchy cities devoid of any definition, but I can't see it changing, and I guess we have to keep on simming in despite of it. August 16, 20241 yr Perhaps the parts about voice selection and setup and minimize were missed by the previous posters

Well the voices are improved, if you watch the video. Completely given up on BATC, it has far to go to be able to descend or vector correctly. Normally I end up ignoring it's stupidity. August 16, 20241 yr I don't have any problems with the UI. Being modern or not really isn't my focus. What I care about is if it works or not, and can i remember and find the options that I need easily. I import my Simbrief FP and connect to MSFS. After that I never really look at P2ATC anymore. Having more voices is a serious plus, and FOR ME it is more than adequate for MY needs. I am not saying that other programs aren't better in certain areas, but factoring in the one-time cost and my use cases, it really checks all the boxes. Support is excellent as well. These are areas that I find far more valuable than just having a modern UI. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro
August 16, 20241 yr Long time p2atc user here, had bought a lot cereproc voices. Then somehow they stopped working and cereproc wanted have full price for the updated sapi versions. Then I used Amazon Polly, but had to restart p2atc sometimes 5 or more times till they worked, rarely they stopped working inflight. bought beyondATC 2 month ago, wanted to know about all the ai hype. never looked back, some of the best purchases for msfs, standard voices are nice, works smoothly, awesome voice recognition from the start without tweaking, no hassle and makes live easier, not more complicated.
