Absolutely. Just download from nvidia https://www.nvidia.com/nb-no/geforce/geforce-experience/

You could explore this site.

That’s the nvidia app, which is still in beta. It gets the job done and adds a few new filters e.g. RTX dynamic vibrance. I tried it a while back but found the interface a bit clunky and buggy.

Not true. It can still be used.

They mentioned multiple times they're not happy with the blue tint either.

I did. In order to get rid of the (to my eyes) yellow tint, I went too far. Off topic: you can refer to me as “he” if you’d like.

Having done a fair bit of image editing in Lightroom, I wish nvidia could use tint and temperature sliders, instead of the less intuitive tint colour and tint intensity.

Also, I didn’t create this thread only with tint in mind. I just wanted to know how people use the nvidia filters in general.

Yes, please. Tired of semantics and BS. Not all of our screens are the same. Some have to be adjusted otherwise it can look bad. Some apparently are built perfectly from the factory and require zero adjustment. Good for them.

I think I first mess with shadows and highlights and then move from there to contrast, vibrance and bloom. Then adjust as needed. Tone....not sure what I did there.

Piett, I wish people would give suggestions instead of tangents.

Desaturation works on the entire image. All the colours. The more you desturate the "less" the colour will be until you end up with a fully greyscale image. The OP is trying to reduce the yellow tint. Desaturating will only result in all the colours being "weakened" but the colour balance will still remain the same.

The funny thing is that, even when they appeared to be helpful, they suggested I desaturate the image to fit with their claim that the MSFS color balance is perfectly okay 🤷🏻‍♂️

@Abriael I think we should just agree that we disagree. You’ve proven your point, and so have I. Well, I haven’t really provided any proof, and don’t see the need to do so. It’s just my opinion.

This thread would have been a lot better if it wasn't so thoroughly trolled by argumentative people. Maybe you should just add a yellow tint. At least one person will be happy.

Ive seen the screen shots and they look pretty good, seriously.

When hearing about the upcoming REX Atmos, I started to tune the filters a bit further. It's been mentioned that there's too much of a yellow tint in the sim, which I agree with. I used the colour filter and applied a tint colour of 30% and a tint intensity of 20%. I think the result is a bit better.

Default (HDR):

bX1KCIc.jpeg

Nvidia filters (HDR):

YpXIju0.jpeg

The settings that I currently use:

Colour

  • Tint colour 30%
  • Tint intensity 20%

Brightness/contrast

  • Contrast 15%
  • Highlights -50%
  • Shadows -10%

Details

  • HDR toning 14%

I'd be interesting to hear how other people use Nvidia filters.

@Cpt_Piett Did you left the other settings in Colour, Brightness/contrast and Details at their Default Values or set them to 0? Thx!

In NV CP you can also change . For each of them you can set brightness, contrast and gamma

All the other settings are at default.

So far I think nvidia doesn’t provide granular control over colour tint and temperature. At least not on the level we’ve come to expect in a photo editing program.

I editing a screenshot using the default Win11 photo app (ie no filters). All I did was to decrease the temperature slightly. Left side is default, right side is edited. It’s a subtle change.

What do people use for sharpening? I've set the AMD Fidelity FX slider to 0. Currently using sharpen at 10 in the details filter. Are there other options that could be better? And what's the difference between sharpen and sharpen+?

Btw I've set sharpen in usercfg.opt (along with most of the post-processing settings) to off.

I think I'm done tweaking filters for now. Still think the colour temperature is too much on the yellow side.

Usercfg.opt:

Quote

PostProcess
        Enabled 1
        EyeAdaptation 1
        ColorGrading 1
        Sharpen 0
        Fringe 0
        LensDistortion 0
        Dirt 0
        LensFlare 0
        FilmGrain 0
        Vignette 0

Colour

  • Tint colour 30%
  • Tint intensity 15%

Brightness/contrast

  • Contrast 15%
  • Shadows -10%

Details

  • Sharpen 10%
  • HDR toning 14%

Screenshot: default left, filters right. To me it makes sense that the whites should look white, not yellow. Note: I'm using HDR.

Way too much blue in the right. I use HDR on a 4k OLED and I would say if you could mix (blend) the above two pics a little more it would look more realistic.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I could increase the temperature a bit (by decreasing tint intensity). I'm also on HDR 4K OLED.
