MSFS2024 and Chaseplane, etc.

Featured Replies

Since a number of devs seem to have intimate knowledge of FS2024, does anyone know if they made the new sim compatible with //42's Chaseplane and similar products? I made do with the built in view system in 2020, but it was IMHO far from ideal...

Anyone?

No Chaseplane for MSFS 2024 unless Asobo opens up the Camera SDK.  That's one of the reasons there was no Chaseplane for 2020.

No idea if the native cameras are better in 2024 than 2020.

Someday we'll know the story behind Asobo's refusal to allow access to the camera API...maybe.

If I remember correctly the dev sent files off and was waiting for a response.

Considering how many third parties they've included by default with the 2024 version, it would have been good if they'd asked P42 to create the camera system for the sim.  It was the most powerful and intuitive camera system ever in a flightsim.   The default camera system may be powerful, but i think only a handful of people know how to use it properly (to its maximum potential)

I wonder if, like historical weather, a lack of a camera API is a case of Asobo lacking experience in flight sims and not understanding why people would  want these features.
