Pay if you feel the product is worth it, don't pay if you don't. So yes, you do have a say in the matter. If enough people feel the same as you, the product will fail.

Oh and newsflash, a year before release a software developer could list feature A, B, C, etc as being planned for the new release N. If closer to release they say that one or more of those features won't actually end up making it into N for whatever reasons, and only come in a future release (N+1 or after) then the buyer can make that decision to buy or not. What *would* be an actual lie is if they say now that tornadoes are coming in live weather and then we buy the sim and find out that's not the case.
