October 5, 20241 yr I did some housekeeping today and decided to try installing the latest driver using Nvidia Clean Install, I did use DDU first though on this occasion and then installed the de bloated driver once I was back in Windows. One thing I did notice though is that my DLSS files had all been reverted back to much older versions, now I do not use DLSS but I did restore the most current versions. Island Sim Pilot did post a video on YT today regarding this. Will be doing some flights over the next few days to see how the driver is performing. The latest update replaced my "nvngx_dlss.dll" and "nvngx_dlssg.dll" files and that was why flight simulator crashed. After replacing those two files with the latest versions I updated the Nvidia driver and all is well now.😀 I have to remember to check those files every time when the simulator is updated! I updated to 565.90 and now I am also having the 0xc0000005 crash whenever I start the sim. I tried cianpars's suggestion of doing a repair via the Xbox app, but that didn't fix it. Per Gogolathome's suggestion I checked the versions of my nvngx_dlss.dll and nvngx_dlssg.dll files, and it looks like mine also got updated with the latest sim update on 10/2. Gogolathome, if you don't mind could you please let me know specifically how you went about updating these? Where did you get the "latest versions" of these? Thanks. In my C:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Content folder I previously had two nvngx files (nvngx_dlss.dll and nvngx_dlssg.dll) both dated 10/2/24. When I saw your download link I remembered that I had been using DLSS Swapper to update to the latest version. So I ran DLSS Swapper, and it showed that I was using a very old version. So I used the "swap" function to reinstall the latest version (3.7.20). I assume that is what you meant by going back to the latest versions. But after using DLSS Swapper to load the latest version (3.7.20) I still got the 0xc0000005 crash when I tried to start the sim. In my C:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Content folder I currently have these three nvngx files: nvngx_dlss.dll dated 7/19/24 nvngx_dlss.dll.dlss dated 1/26/23 nvngx_dlssg.dll dated 10/2/24 Comparing the downloaded file I got from TECHPOWERUP to mine, I believe the first file is the latest (3.7.20). But I am confused on the other two files. Do they need to be updated? Since you and RJC68 seemed to have solved it by updating your dll files, could one of u possibly let me know which nvngx files you have and what their dates are? Thanks. I wonder if it’s really necessary… I always use DDU, then all files related to Nvidia disappear from your hard drive, even cache files, it's easy to do and you don't have to keep emptying cache files until the next new driver is released. Don't worry about the dates, just get the latest versions from techpowerup. Should be 3.7.2 and 3.7.1. I don't use swapper, I just copy the files into C:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Content You can use gpu-z to check if they're installed correctly. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
October 7, 20241 yr Thanks Cpt_Piett. I verified that I had the correct dll files and reverted back to 561.09. Sim now starts without the error message.
