October 18, 20241 yr Whoever had their hands on the technical alpha, are the turnarounds without needing to exit to the main menu possible now? Do we have all the tools to land, setup/import new flight plan and move along? Jacek G. October 18, 20241 yr I didn't try to do that but from what I can remember you can just plan another flight form the EFB and keep going.
October 18, 20241 yr Author As long as there's a menu to import Simbrief plan in the EFB, we should be in business. Otherwise I think this would something that I'm sure Working Title could be talked into squeezing in any of the upcoming sim updates. Jacek G. October 18, 20241 yr Exiting to main menu is a lot faster. And the map is centered on where you last started. You can still just restart a flight too, like you could in 2020. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. October 18, 20241 yr Everything is faster, like restarting. I don't know about the speed of doing stuff in Dev Mode like jumping to a new aircraft or location, because Dev Mode was greyed out. Dual monitors was no longer experimental. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. You just invoke the menu with access to flight planner and stay in the same location? Edited October 18, 20241 yr by Drumcode Jacek G. October 18, 20241 yr No, exiting the menu is same as in 2020, except the map will be zoomed in at your departure airport so you don't have to type in the ICAO for departure, just click on the airport symbol to refly. But the exit to menu is very quick compared to 2020. And the flight loads 10 times faster when you click FLY. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Or do we go directly without the extra prompt about do we want to exit ?
October 19, 20241 yr It still prompts and does not go directly, another mouse click is therefore necessary. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. October 19, 20241 yr an option is to not use default maps. That's always worked for turnaround flights in 2020. Assume it would work just fine in 2024 if I'm understanding right. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
October 19, 20241 yr I'm not sure I understand this. What exactly is stopping you landing, reprogramming your route via fms /gps /vor etc and just taking off again? Just the atc? When you start a flight you don't even need to put a destination in just origin and off you go. I've used fshud to program new atc flight plan as default is obviously wna, but what am I missing here? Seeing as flight state saving is very poor in 2020 surely leaving the sim environment at all resets almost everything? I use external weather so I either program in the whole route in advance including all stops or just alt tab out and add new plan. Sorry if I've missed something obvious! Russell Gough SE London
