ifly 737 max. This is crazy!

It's either an assistance settings issue, or your physical controls are sending some spiky signals and fighting with the autopilot.  You can try adding a small dead zone to your pitch axis to fix it.  There's an update coming that fixes it as well.

Wow. I have 10 flights and have never had that happen. Not normal for sure.

I can go on the PMDG forum, any Sunday, and usually find some help with an issue..

You can find a lot of things on the PMDG forum, but an actual willingness to help from people who actually know how to fly a 737 isn't often one of them 😉.

That said, their support ticket system is good... But yeah, you're not getting a response on a Sunday.

I mentioned this on a different thread.  During roll out, I suddenly got a pitch up around 95 KTS.  I had to push the nose down.  Not sure why.

Maybe they simulating the MAX before the software update that lad to the 2 fatal crashes ??

That means they now have to simulate years of grounded planes 🙂

LOL.  Yes it was strange and caught me off guard.  I had thrust reverse, spoilers, and the auto brakes and suddenly there goes the nose.

Did you try testing with an empty Community folder?  (just the max installed)

Maybe some common add-on you and @buspelle have running is causing a conflict?

Are you using REAL TURB V2? I was having similar issues, once I turned it off it was fine. For some reason the MAX does not play well with the Turbulence injectors. You may also want to check what your MSFS and Active Sky settings are concerning Turbulence.

I am testing right now. I set deadzone to 15. On departure I didn´t experience any problems at all. Soon starting decent. Maybe it helped. 🙂

This is good gouge.  I've seen other posts about turbulence injection.  I don't personally use real turb and I haven't tried anything but real weather or a stock preset with it yet, but this is mentioned often enough that there's probably something to it.

Got the same behavior as OP (never had it before, got the MAX on pre-release day, flown it a lot). It was at the end of a 5hr session. Only a 60nm flight, up to FL100 then a VOR approach. Flew it without AP.

Addon is broken. Does not follow lnav vnav throws me in a dive. It began with losing track of lnav.

Not a good addon. Not buying EA anymore! First time first lesson. Learned. Bah!

Addon is definitely not "broken" lol.  LNAV is more accurate than anything else I've tested in this sim; I've flown quite a few non-public RNP procedures that place more technical demand on LNAV / VNAV than any public procedure in existence, and the performance is impressive, to say the least.

I don't doubt you're having problems; they sound like the spiky controls issues others are having that can be fixed with small dead zones.  An update is also coming that will fix it.

But you certainly can't claim an addon that performs better than the PMDG in technically demanding scenarios is "broken".

I've had the crazy descend/climb issue on 3 occasions now. It usually happens after several hours of flight, after takeoff nr 2 or 3 in the same session. Airplane climbs with up to 8000fpm then descends with same crazy fpm.

Last flight I decided to just fly without the autopilot which was fine. Well, a bit demanding to fly her manually for hours, but luckily she handflies well.

I've also had the issue several times that the engines don't spool up in sync during takeoff roll. I've now changed the throttle sensitivites and deadzone, but for now I just takeoff without autothrottle.

Judging by what's been mentioned here on Avsim, these are probably known issues that will be fixed in future updates.

EDIT: Apart from the above, I'd say it's a solid aircraft. I've done all kinds of non-precision and visual approaches, crosswind landings etc. Definitely my favorite aircraft at the moment (I haven't even tried the A380 yet).
