November 7, 20241 yr Hi, I wanted to preorder MSFS 2024, but I just can't decide which version. I thought of Premium Deluxe or Avitor, both are 15% off. So 118 bucks vs. 186 bucks. I can deal with the lower number, but 186 bucks are really hard to diggest. Do you think it's worth. I vertainly interessted in the Antonov 225 and ATR 42-600 / 72-600. However, I almost exlusively fly payware high fidelity aircraft (Fenix and PMDG). So I am not sure if it's worth taking the Avitor edition. On the other hand I want to support Microsoft, so keep the sim alife and we don't risk something like FSX back than. How is the overall qualiy of the aircraft in the avitor edition?
November 7, 20241 yr If you're interested in only a couple of aircraft in the Aviator, probably not worth it. Remeber that the Premium Deluxe edition entitles you to a 33% discount on all aircraft published by Microsoft. Editor-in-Chief at SimulationDaily.com

Maybe I will buy the premium or premium deluxe, and put the other money into 3rd party sceneries.
November 7, 20241 yr Author Just to make sure, will I be able to buy the The Boeing Company 747-400 LCF Dreamlifter on the marketplace even if I only purchase the standard edition? EDIT: And about the airports. I have the MSFS 2020 Premium Deluxe. Will I have any disadvantage if I buy the standard edition in regard to airports? Maybe I could go the way with the standard, buy the Antonov, ATR and Dreamlifter and still have all the 160 airports? Edited November 7, 20241 yr by 737_800
November 7, 20241 yr I’m getting the Standard version. Last time I got Premium Deluxe and rarely used any default aircraft, ended up using payware aircraft almost exclusively. Not making that mistake again. If something in the upper tiers turn out to be especially good I will buy it. It’s not worth paying upfront for a potential reduction in the future if you don’t know what the item for discount will be. It’s affirming the consequent.
November 7, 20241 yr Yeah I can't decide either. I know I'll never have time to fly all of those aircraft. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

Let's assume I buy the MSFS 2024 standard edition. I will have all the airports from the previous PD edition, right. However, they announeced at least two new airport (LEBB and KGCN), is there a chance there will be more - they probably won't be in the standard edition. I don't need both of them since I use the BWM LEBB scenery, but still we don't know if they are gonna charge upgrade prices. I really see over the airplanes since I have been flying only with the Fenix the last years and now have one of the PMDGs. So the differencial price is well invested into 3rd party airports, but what make me wondering is if I will have any disadvantage if they publish new airports in WU or CU? They haven't done that in MSFS 2020, so everyone get the updated airports, but do we know for sure they will stick to that? Otherwise it's really seems the best option to buy the Standard edition for 67 bucks (disconted) and wait until the desired aircraft are on regular sale for everyone and buy the few I am interessted in. Otherwise, I could just pay some other payware airports. I wish they would've been more transparant on the airport. Even though I don't know how many are in the MSFS 2020 PD package after all the CU & WU, would they be about 160 or less and they will bring some new into the sim, even though Joerg said, they won't publish much new and work on the older ones.

Preordered standard version, cause already so many planes included, plus all the payware ones I already have that sooner or later will be upgraded to 2024. Paying more to have aricrafts I'll fly maybe only once just out of curiosity, made no sense for me.
November 7, 20241 yr Most of aircraft you may not use and up buying pay ware whcih allows you pick aircraft of choice to your liking.
November 7, 20241 yr I have been debating this same thing and also seem to be coming to the conclusion that I will get the standard version. As with others here, I mainly fly paid, third-party aircraft and virtually always fly into third-party, pay ware airports. A few of the Asobo ones are pretty good and I use them as well, but on the whole I am not going to benefit from a few more airports nor a few other aircraft; there are just so many of them I will never fly. Also, I believe they have said that we can purchase the aircraft in the higher tiers individually so if there ends up being one I really want I will just purchase it. World and Sim updates have always been universal and not targeted at one tier or another. MSFS 2024. November 8, 20241 yr These are good questions. Wonder if you get the deluxe etc version and then upgrade later? I also have a ton of payware airports and planes. 95% are from 3rd party which leaves me in a tough spot if dev's say "no" to free or cheap upgrade prices. 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.

November 11, 20241 yr Thanks alot. So I'm guessing the 78X is the same one that horizon 789 is based on right ??
November 11, 20241 yr I've pre ordered the Aviator edition through CD Keys. £117 as opposed to £200 from Microsoft. I suppose there is always a risk the CD Keys codes will not activate, but I've never had a problem with anything I've bought there in the past. Calum Watt
