Hi Everybody,

 

Here is a new one on me. I just did a complete reinstall of MS2020 after removing MS2024, now the pmdg 738 flight deck is dead with the yoke pulled to full left aileron. I press/hold the Menu button on the FMC keypad and no screen.

Any ideas, anyone seen this before?

Did you reinstall the PMDG from the source package?

I downloaded the latest from their website, installed it and updated the operations panel, updated pmdg to the latest airliner. 

Flight Model is MODERN - I've tried  LOCK and LEGACY under accessibility as well as D-Pad Menu Navigation ON/OFF - Also Tried Home cockpit Mode ON/OFF

It's just dead.

This is what I get with a new install of both MS2020 and PMDG updated to the latest.
 

 

Same problem on 2020 as well about 50% of the time even though they claimed to have fixed this, a simple restart of the flight does always fix it for me so far though.  I was told this has to do with the product contacting the PDMG servers to see if it's a legit copy, DRM basically.

Btw this still happens on 2024 as well!!!

I use to be able to restart and it went away. But it happens every time, I can't fly.

send a support  ticket  in  than if  your  still having  issues,   they  say  from  all  the  previous  support  ticket in  are  due  to  all  the  mods  being  installed

I posted on their web site, I'll also put in a ticket. New install of both 2020 and PMDG so no editing/mods going on here.

If it is not too late, even if you use the Windows Control Panel for uninstallation, certain files are left behind.

Doesn´t this has something to do with an xml that FS reads to launch addons? Maybe the pmdg installer did not update the xml file...?

LRBS quoted an earlier post of mine which described how I fixed a 738 with the same problem.

I've updated the procedure, bear in mind this will remove all PMDG products:

1. Uninstall all PMDG products from 'Add/Remove Programs' Windows control panel
    e.g., 'PMDG 737-800 for MSFS'

2. In the following folder delete all folders beginning with 'pmdg-'
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages
    e.g., 'pmdg-aircraft-738'

3. In the following folder delete all folders beginning with 'PMDG'
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\SimObjects\Airplanes
    e.g., 'PMDG 737-800'

4. Delete these folders
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\PMDG
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\PMDG

5. In the following folder delete all folders beginning with 'pmdg-' (your MSFS path will be different)
    D:\MSFS\Packages\Community
    e.g., 'pmdg-aircraft-738' & 'pmdg-aircraft-738-liveries'

I’ve never had an XML entry for the PMDG. How about you? Do you happen to have one?
