Set Custom Views Like FS2020

Featured Replies

I use to use CTRL and Number pad to set different cockpit views. Doesn't work in FS2024. Can someone tell me how it's done in FS2024? Also I use to assign button 3 on my Honeycomb yoke to toggle cockpit/external

views Can't do it in FS2024.

Thank  You

That was very handy for me with planes with modelled cabins.

MacBook Neo: A18 Pro with 6-core processor and 5-core graphics 8GB Unified Memory, macOS Tahoe, X-Plane 12 (12.40).

Mac mini: M4 chip with 10 core processor, 10 core graphics, 16 GB Unified Memory, 256GB SSD, macOS Tahoe, X-Plane 12 (12.40), X-Plane 11 (11.55).

Lenovo Legion 5 16IRX9: Intel Core i9-14900HX, 32GB DDR5-4800 RAM, 1TB Micron NVMe SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8 GB GPU and Intel UHD Graphics 16EU iGPU, Windows 11 Home, MSFS 2024 and 2020, X-Plane 12 (12.40), X-Plane 11 (11.55) and Lenovo LOQ 15 15IAX9: Intel Core i5-12450HX, 24GB DDR5-4800 RAM, 1TB Solidigm NVMe SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 4GB GPU and Intel UHD Graphics 16EU iGPU, Windows 11 Home, MSFS 2024 and 2020, XX-Plane 12 (12.40), X-Plane 11 (11.55).

Alienware m15 R7: Intel Core i7-12700H, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8GB, Windows 11 Home, MSFS 2024 and 2020, X-Plane 12 (12.40), X-Plane 11 (11.55).

It works the same way as in 2020 just a bit more convoluted.  You do have to go in and duplicate the default 2024 keyboard settings and set up a new "General" keyboard profile.  I had to delete a lot of key assignments but then just reassigned them like I did in 2020 with the number pad.

It is there.  Just different.

Shift+[F5] saves Custom Cockpit View (1)

Shift+[F6] saves Custom Cockpit View (2)

Shift+[F7] saves Custom Cockpit View (3)

Shift+[F8] saves Custom Cockpit View (4)

They are respectively called with Shift+{F1] through Shift+[F4] and can be assigned to buttons.

I set those four up today in my Hondajet Honeycomb Alpha profile.

If you dive into Settings, Controls, Keyboard, and scroll through the key combinations there are key combinations that save more, and key combinations that can be assigned to buttons on hardware controls.

An alternative is to revert to the 2020 keyboard. This is done in the settings dialog on the bottom left. Then you can bind the views the way you used to. Personally, I save a view with Ctl-alt-num above the letters. Then I bind the view to a keypad number instead of alt-num which is the default way to retrieve a view. This is all do-able in the 2020 keyboard.

Unfortunately, this doesn't always stick to the next plane like you would expect it to. This seems to be a prob;em with all kinds of settings.

Thanks to all for your information. I now understand the SHIFT F1 , F2 etc. What I did in FS2020 was to assign different views to the number pad.

Example Number 5 main cockpit view

Number 2 Throttle view

Number 8 Above panel view

I can't seem to do that here. Any ideas?

Thanks

Why in god's name didn't Asobo forget about the camera system and let a third party dev like //42, who have a great track record in developing the Chaseplane camera system, design a system and let Asobo concentrate on the sim. I remember in P3d having the Chaseplane camera setup and it worked beautifully. Also, I didn't end up taking handfuls of pain killers for my headaches, as a result of hours of head banging! (only assuming, as I haven't got 2024! )

OK! Thanks to all. I figured it out.

Save the view as custom F?

Load F? view using Number Pad 8

Hope this makes sense to you.
