I mean, about the only thing they have in common is 2 jet engines and the hood ornament. Other than that...😆

I'm pretty happy with the TorqueSim - I call it the "Goldilocks" addon. It's a biz jet that still feels a lot like a "Cessna" - in all the good ways.

Its a great add-on - IF that particular cockpit & airframe suit your needs, and IF you intend to spend some time with it.

If you just want a biz jet for speed and variety, I'd argue the AeroBask Phenom 300 is the better value, especially given the G1000 for avionics commonality across many add-ons.

I agree although I have to study the details of operation 🙂

It's been a long time since I last tried a similar addon - I'm all buses these days 🙂

I actually prefer to use it in the "classical" default avionics version...

  • For those not following the product closely, the 525 is feature complete in systems and circuit functionality, and bug free. We are adding new features (our update today added a performance calculator

  • Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I appreciate the opportunity to address it! The idea of a two-tiered release may seem appealing at first glance, but it’s not practical from a development

  • Just to add my thoughts, this is my first addon from Torquesim and I am very impressed. Tom compare it with, I have the 777v2, the King Air 350 and the Challenger as well and this one slots in nicely

Business jets for me are my favourite, there is a balance in between GA and Airliners, the problem is that as I have little time lately I only fly VFR with very simple planes at very small airfields.

I hope one day to have time to fly the 525 and CL650.

Sorry to drag this old thread up, but, is this bird any good? What’s the general consensus?

In short it's exceptionally good.

As I've described it elsewhere it's not as obsessively detailed as the CL650 but that's a positive for me.
It has all the depth I need for while being a MUCH more approachable plane and an absolute joy to hand fly.

The autopilot being explicitly built around the UNS-1 is controversial for some people but it does appear to be realistic and there will be options to change this in the future.

As others have said the Phenom 300 is probably it's closest rival and is faster, carries more, flies well and costs half the price, but for me at least the 525 is worth every penny.

(Exactly how the JF Arrow III won Best X-Plane Aircraft at 2025 Flight Sim Awards ahead of the CJ525 I have no idea)

There is much delight to be had in hand flying well crafted light GA aircraft, especially in X-Plane. 🙂

On the 525, one of the joys is that it's simple enough to start from cold in just a few mins and go VFR'ing, and this is legit since it's IRL single pilot certified.

The expansive Windows and high speed make for quite a nice touring aircraft, and the straight wing and good flaps means you can visit relatively short airfields, too.

Very well said.

The only problem with the CL650 is the limitations of the nut behind the wheel. 🤣

I feel like it's so proprietary and so deep that I'll really only have the time and brain power for that one addon.

The FS awards were clearly a popularity contest rather than a true Best Of. A few other head scratchers in there, too.

I think I will have to sign that with you 😂

Edit: ups…I hope this won’t be missunderstood -> I meant of course related to myself, so same here 😀
