December 4, 20241 yr I'm flying in Britain and what I notice is that the Metar is correct, however it seems the sim is only relying on data from METAR. For example if Metar says broken clouds, in the sim its only broken clouds and nothing else. When you look at a live webcam from real life, the weather looks totally different.
December 4, 20241 yr Dunno, but looking out the window here pretty matches what's happening in the sim at the moment. Have you checked if live weather is selected. As i have found that i have to select live weather before every flight, as it's not on automatically here. December 4, 20241 yr I can confirm that I have also noticed (from day one), that live weather is very unreliable and that you indeed, have to manually select live weather every flight you launch. It's like the sim is not remembering that you prefer to fly with live weather. Same thing with control assignments. I swear that every single flight or instance I activate with the sim, I have to re do many of my control assignments. That part has prevented me from fully transitioning to 2024 - ridiculous amount of time just trying to get all the bindings done and saved and get them to stick every instance. Sincerely, Dennis D. December 4, 20241 yr Mine also reverts back to custom weather after every flight. I've gotten into the habit of checking once I'm in the cockpit to make sure live weather is set. I've not noticed much discrepancy between live weather and what I see out of the window. The main thing bothering me and this is nothing new, MSFS2020 had the same issue is the drastic shifts, it's mainly in the pressure changing drastically, again nothing new but it seems more frequent in the new sim. December 4, 20241 yr Also if you go to change the weather in the Toolbar, next time you open the Toolbar it reverts back to Live Weather. Another astoundingly obvious bug to add to the massive list at launch, amazing how backwards they've gone in some areas. Then the next time I restarted 2020, I had to set it back to live weather, where it stayed.

Sometimes mine does, sometimes mine doesn't. Sometimes I have to switch over my controls, sometimes I don't. Something I'm doing on my end? Something I'm not doing right?
